As China and India grow bigger, it’s been predicted that they could displace America anytime soon in the future. Centuries past, they were already the world’s biggest economies by the virtue of having the world’s largest populations. I suspect if they’re ever going to grow bigger, then their own industries in general could usurp their American counterparts.
In fact, it’s already becoming the case to some extent considering China and India having substantial middle classes but the same can be said of others like Ghana, Kenya and The Philippines when you think about it. In some predictions, China will have the middle class as its majority social class.
In proportion to the growing middle class, their fashion and entertainment industries have grown exponentially as well. If these continue to grow in parallel to the middle class then they could easily outpace America’s. While the Chinese middle class grows, the American counterpart shrinks.
Chinese is increasingly taught and learnt so English’s hegemony will decline, if not end soon enough as well as the number of Chinese moving elsewhere and making businesses over there so.
