Completing something

Lately, I have completed sewing and pleating a midnight blue skirt in one day. Just one day and it’s almost finished, since all that’s needed to complete it is a pair of ribbons to tie it up. Same with the red skirt that I made sometime before. It’s not easy learning something new, which’s why it took so long for me to finally pleat that red skirt. After getting used to this, I was able to pleat a new skirt in a single day. It’s not that hard, for as long as you get used to it. It’s not going to be easy the first time around, especially if you’re not too used to it.

But within due time, it will become easier with the second try. It’s not always easy learning something new, since that involves a good deal of practising and memorising, the latter’s something that doesn’t come easily to me. I am looking forward to making a dress someday, even if that involves much more yard than what I’m used to. But it’s a challenge that I’m willing to take, something that will enable me to improve on my skills and develop new ones. Not easy at first, but with enough sewing experience it will be easy over repeated tries.

Same goes for making bags, but since it’s not an article of clothing that’s new territory for me to explore. But because I plan on making and selling stuff, this would be a new product to sell to people. I may not be this rich yet, but I plan on selling more so that I can earn more. I have completed a blouse and a skirt in just one day, the latter is shorter than I’ve expected. But the more you get used to sewing and making something, the easier it is to do it more quickly. Well, sometimes for me but still.
