Some thoughts

I have the nagging feeling that Europe and especially Germany’s less dog friendly than one realises, that’s if it weren’t for the epidemic of dogs being poisoned out of spite. No seriously, it’s a big problem over there to the point where if I remember right, some dog owners put muzzles on their dogs to keep them from eating poison bait. That’s how bad the problem is in Germany, and to some extent its own neighbours like Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

America might not be any better in some respects, but I feel the Western world’s just as guilty of animal abuse as its nonWestern counterparts do, especially when it comes to animals being poisoned out of spite. I’m not making this up when I say that Germany’s actually less dog friendly than America is, that’s when it comes to dog poisoning being an epidemic over there. To worsen matters, there are cases of innocent pets shot by hunters (hunters do have a habit of shooting stray animals).

I don’t think Germany’s a dog friendly country by this logic, whether if Americans want to realise about it or not worsened by that there’s a language barrier that keeps this dark phenomenon a secret.
