I still think putting Zatanna, Pied Piper and Dr Fate (DC fan favourites) as well as turning Caitlin Snow into a dog-loving wolf witch’s enough to give outsiders a better idea of how Biblical writers regarded such characters as even if I think dogs aren’t always portrayed negatively. (At least it’s ambivalent in that dogs are useful*.) To say people like puppies but not dogs (especially useless dogs, feral dogs and dogs killing people at will) also gives an idea.
As for Zatanna, Pied Piper and Dr Fate in hell two of them seem to be genuinely law-abiding citizens and actual heroes but if you believe some characters, even doing good deeds isn’t enough to bring somebody to heaven. Also Christianity, Judaism and Islam all have negative opinions of homosexuality to begin with, perhaps linked to the fear of sorcery and witchcraft.
Even the Bible has a verse mentioning almost all of these to some extent with dogs being a near ambivalent exception for being somewhat useful. But the point would be so blunt as to come off as offensive to some (so it seems the truth hurts).
*In terms of warmth and competence, I suspect humans would rank high on warmth but not competence whilst it’s the opposite for dogs (and perhaps pigs to some extent).
