Urban heat island effect and cities

I think I already said before about Florence and St Petersburg having transitional climates is that part of it’s attributable to urban heat island effects which urban centres are hotter than the rest due to absorbing more heat. This gets complicated by proximity to the ocean which complicates things. So only certain areas in Florence and St Petersburg would be Mediterranean and Oceanic respectively.

(Moreso if you adjust isotherm temperatures to below 3 degrees or something.)

Makes sense that the surrounding areas would be considerably cooler as they’re less compactly urbanised. Though due to growing awareness over global warming, many cities and some people are trying to counteract it through gardening. I won’t be so surprised if some people took up gardening for more altruistic causes. Especially if it gets too hot for its own good.

Differences between America and Canada

To be fair, I know little of both America and Canada. However there are some differences though we should run the risk of generalising and stereotyping those people as they have shared histories and languages of being based off of British colonisation as do parts of the Caribbean.

Canada is partitioned between Anglophone and Francophone locales, in the case with America the closest thing would be the differences between Hispanophone and Anglohpone locales due to its closer proximity to Latin America.

America’s very geographically diverse, encompassing Arctic Alaska and the deserts and tropics. Canada isn’t entirely arctic but it’s not that large enough to encompass a big range of environments.

Canada and Australia have like roughly 30-40 million people each whereas America has 300-400 million people and Britain houses 70 million people. The latter two have environments forgiving enough to take care of that many people.

There is heavy crossover between Canada and America. Some programmes are produced in, though not set in, Canada. Likewise Canadian celebrities sometimes make the border and acquire dual citizenship.

I might as well do some research to add depth to it.
