He’s a screaming politician

When it comes to characters with preternaturally loud screams, it’s kind of odd why nobody bothered creating a character who parlays this ability into politics, since they could make a good orator this way. Who needs microphones when your sonic scream easily does the job for you in public anyways, well it turns out I have created one in an ageing politician named Walter Edevane. A rival to the much younger Colin Sallow, he has a habit of belittling him when given the opportunity to do so. Inevitably Colin does respond in kind (in a way), though he seems friendlier in public than he is. Walter Edevane is pretty much a married man, never cheats on his wife (and she never cheats on him too), never goes about clubbing and stuff. Despite being wealthier than Colin is, he’s not the sort of bloke who’d spend his money on something this exorbant, maybe same for some things in life.

He’s not the sort of man who’d spend this much money on setting up an elaborate aviary to raise birds of almost any kind (chickens, turkeys, geese, canaries, pigeons, parrots, ducks and quails) the way Colin does, preferring cheaper and more commonplace pets like mixed breed dogs for instance. He leads a simple life where he goes about caring for his mutts, whilst not being above demanding that pigeons ought to be dealt with harshly. He’s okay with driving simple cars, taking the bus or train when necessary and the like, even when he’s not exactly old money himself. He’s okay with living in a simple house with a simple garden, despite his wealth although this could be applied to Mr Sallow in a way. He often rags on Colin Sallow for many reasons, namely his hairstyle (telling him to get a haircut, he looks like a girl), tendency to be really kind of pigeons, for dressing in a certain way (wearing a striped dress shirt with a suit, forgoing the tie) and never eating turkeys and chickens.

I feel a story where you have superpowered characters around yet it’s neither fantasy (not even the urban fantasy variety) nor does it contain combats even when supernatural abilities are involved, even when such a story calls itself a superhero story yet has much more in common with actual crime fiction that the way the stories will unfold will turn out very differently. In the typical superhero setup, whenever a character gains preternatural abilities at all they often funnel these into combat, alongside putting on a showy persona and equally showy outfit. They are often repeatedly tested by a set of recurring enemies (their rogues gallery), but they are expected to win and have victory over their foes. They have to lead a double life, though they actually spend much more time fighting their enemies, than doing what they’re supposed to do at work. It’s actually the thing with Supergirl in the 1970s stories when she became a grown up woman.

She’s really Superwoman by then all but in name, who technically works as a telly host or actress but spends more time fighting enemies. Aside from the other Supergirls that came before her (including Lois Lane for a while), Supergirl in the late 1950s was introduced as a teenager and kind of aged realistically by cartoon character standards where she eventually graduates from high school and goes to university or something, then does a variety of jobs since then. It’s actually not unique to her as it’s very rampant throughout the DC and Marvel canons where you have characters who technically work as florists (Black Canary for the longest period of time), journalists (Superman, Spider-Man), business owners (Iron Man, Batman), teachers (Guy Gardner, Helena Bertinelli), musicians (Dazzler, Luna Snow), scientists (Poison Ivy, Barry Allen, Hank Pym, Harley Quinn) and so on, but spend far more time beating up their foes in whatever manner the writers see fit.

Imagine if the use of a double life was either done away or done very differently from what’s usually portrayed in DC and Marvel stories, albeit one with a stronger crime fiction or even stronger literary fiction influence, that this changes the way characters use their abilities with. Like I said before, Walter Edevane has a sonic scream and is also a good orator of a politician. Therefore he has no need for microphones, he just has to modulate his voice when the situation calls for it (to the best of his abilities). Colin Sallow has the ability to stop time but only in a limited area and it has something to do with gravity as both time and gravity are scientifically closely related, so if he stops time in a certain area somebody else feels heavier this way. He does this whenever he has to do something, both good and ill, like making an escape, making food, sharpening pencils and stuff. Especially when he has to literally take the time to do something.

It seems a lot of superhero comics, especially from DC and Marvel, seem more obsessed with their own storytelling canons instead of venturing out into something new and different, that if they do the latter they’ll get backlash for it. Even racebending earlier characters often prove to be really controversial, to the point where it seems the wiser solution is to create a new DC or Marvel instead. This is pretty much what the blokes during the early days of Image Comics ended up doing, but only one imprint got absored into DC’s canon proper. That is Wildstorm and this was Jim Lee’s baby, before going on to actually helm DC Comics himself. At this point in time the only consistently successful superhero stories Image publishes are Spawn and Invincible, both of them got animated adaptations by the way. It’s possible for a new Wildstorm or Image to emerge, but given America’s declining stature this Wildstorm would have to be outside of the United States in any way.

This is also likely why sometime in the 1980s DC began hooking in British writers, with a feeling their takes on superheroes were really refreshing, especially the better ones who cut their teeth at the magazine 2000AD. Early on a number of British superheroes were evidently derivative of their US counterparts, the Leopard From Lime Street is a feline Spider-Man, Marvelman is a blond British Billy Batson. It’s even telling that Marvel had to instigate its own British imprint, with a young Neil Tennant (of Pet Shop Boys fame) working for it for a while, to appeal to British readers. Years before it would buy Marvelman itself, which arguably speaks volumes about superheroes being rather foreign to British culture. It’s not that all British people dislike superheroes but there’s something un-British about superheroes that makes it harder to support a homegrown British superhero for long, much less one that’s not too derivative of their American counterparts.

Even the general set-up of the superhero school is really strange and confounding where you have characters who technically work a quotidian job but spend far more time beating up bad guys instead in a garish outfit and with an equally garish alias, especially once they acqure such preternatural abilities at all. Judge Dredd and his cronies like Judge Andersons are consistently police officers through and through, but crime fiction seems far better established in British culture than superheroes are if it weren’t for the formative likes of Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple. That’s not to say an American can’t come up with a Harry Potter before JK Rowling got to it, maybe something close to it but there’s something British about Harry Potter that the closest earliest US analogues can’t come close to. Not that boarding schools aren’t a part of America and other countries at all, but when boarding schools are identified by differing houses and boarding schools are much better established in Britain, then Harry Potter as we know it can’t be American.

If you were to consider the usual US high school fiction, it would have things like a cafeteria, cheerleaders and popular kids. When it comes to something like WITCH, though a Disney property, it was very much developed in Italy first and pretty much likely reflects Italian educational norms and understandings. Cornelia could be the popular girl and equivalent to As Told By Ginger’s Courtney, but she’s very much a part of Will’s social group from the get-go. In that sense there’s something deeply American about superheroes that feels foreign or strange in another country or culture, that if Miraculous is any indication, if another country were to have a successful go with it it would turn out very differently. The US superhero angle is pretty much going to be an adult doing vigilante acts with supernatural abilities, a flashy alias and a garish outfit, albeit done with a really straight face. France’s Felina could be a French Catwoman, a Catwoman where no Batman exists. But she doesn’t appear to have recurring foes, as much as Batman does.

Miraculous is obviously based on American superheroes but it’s also got a strong magical girl influence, where they access to their superhero personas through fetishes the way Sailor Moon and her cronies do. (Not necessarily in the sense of kink, but as in charms and talismans.) US superheroes also seem foreign in Canadian culture, even when Canadians frequently work for US publishers. In the sense that Canada’s unable to sustain its own superhero magazines for as long and as often as America does, where its own takes are either really novel (Angloman using satire more often, or The Pitiful Human Lizard being about a loser) or super-derivative (Captain Canuck for instance). Canada doesn’t even have a particularly substantial superhero canon of its own, that it seems the superhero school is also not its forte either. As if superheroes don’t travel that particularly well in other countries when localised at all, if Miraculous is any indication, it would be tempered by other influences.

Since this story also takes place in Canada and it’s also heavily influenced by straight crime fiction, it’s also proving the point right in a way. I feel in the usual US superhero setup, Colin Sallow being Walter Edevane’s political enemy would become a part of his rogues gallery, also they have to have showy outfits and aliases to go with it. Maybe Colin Sallow will go by the name of Interval as he stops time in a specific area, so logically Walter Edevane would be Protest then. Both characters would have to lead double lives then, in a way their usual presentations wouldn’t do as the original’s more rooted in crime fiction. Additionally many US superheroes aren’t part of government-sponsored teams the way Canadian superheroes are (as Captain Canuck’s associated with PACT or something), but this reflect the US superhero school’s roots in vigilantism where people take law into their own hands when dealing with criminal activity themselves.

Not that vigilantism’s entirely absent in Britain and Canada, but it’s not a prominent feature the way it is in America. Not just in the former wild west, but also in urban America from time to time. There are some people who say that the current superhero school has parallels to the cowboy fiction school, in the sense that both deal with vigilantism and taking advantage of newly acquired land. It could be said that the British wave in US superhero comics is the superhero school’s equivalent to Italy’s spaghetti westerns, taking something quintessentially American and doing something different with it. If the western’s popularity largely died with the Cold War, then it’s conceivable that the superhero’s popularity with America’s own decline in another way. If you believe Christian prophets, America might be subjected to both a forthcoming civil war and new world war. This could spell the end of superheroes as we know them, since you also have these prophets saying America is Mystery Babylon (the future nationstate said to corrupt the world).

Since we shouldn’t despise prophecy (despite failing this at times), there is a chance that America will truly decline a lot in stature and influence, perhaps even witnessing its influence get undone and it already is to some extent, wherein if America were to persist in some way it would really end up as the pawn of another country before disappearing altogether. Perhaps the DC and Marvel superheroes will disappear with it altogether as well, resulting in a fundamentally changed media landscape by then where the Canadian ACG canon would closely resemble its European counterpart more this time. A world where much American influence had already been reduced by then, but where Canada would be in a really awkward position of being Russia’s sole North American territory/whatever after America’s disappearance. If the superhero originated in America, then it would die with America too. Or if it does survive in any way, it would really have to change with the times. It might survive longer in other countries but it would also develop or grow in ways it wouldn’t get to do in America, especially once the genre’s sufficiently cut off from the biggest movers of its canon.

Namely DC and Marvel that it might go from referencing these two a lot to getting influenced by many other things to varying degrees, developing in a manner that’s no longer beholden to either one or both of them. Since I said before that Colin Sallow is actually based on Liam Howlett, the keyboardist for the band The Prodigy, to the extent of even sharing other attributes with him (playing the piano and biking), along with the story being more rooted in mystery fiction that there is a way to develop the superhero story largely independent of DC and Marvel. But this involves opening up to very different influences that are rarely, if ever, utilised in the superhero canon a lot where it seems usual for subsequent superhero publications to have covers homaging other superhero publications. It is very rare for the same to homage something else like popular music, that it would be even more astonishing for it to earnestly reference bands like The Prodigy a lot as there’s another character called Fabrice Tientcheu who’s based on Maxim Reality, let alone even their other contemporaries like Ace of Base or Aqua.

(Well there’s a bit of Malin Berggren in another character called Jemima Szara, since they’re both blonde white women who are neither particularly tall nor particularly short.)

These kinds of influences (well in a way) aren’t necessarily unprecedented in superhero comics as somebody like JH Williams III has been known to allude to Sisters of Mercy (yet another favourite of mine) in his cartooning from time to time, but it’s much more common to find superhero comics alluding a lot to other superhero comics and by extension, comics in general, because it’s clear these kinds of stories have come to appeal a lot to a certain audience that may not necessarily overlap much with people who’re deep into music and vice versa for a good number of people. This isn’t always the case but it’s kind of telling that there are a good deal more comic books about Batman, Superman and Spider-Man than there are those about say Massive Attack, comics about The Prodigy do exist but they’re primarily found in music magazines. One of the Ace of Base members has read comics herself, even though they pertain more to Tintin and Donald Duck than with Superman. Aqua did a song about them called ‘Cartoon Heroes’ and Sisters of Mercy have appeared in comics before, but it’s generally pretty rare finding western comics specifically about actual musicians.

In fact it’s very rare for superhero comics to even bother alluding to actual musicians much, much less using them as inspiration for actual characters (and stories) and one of them is Dazzler, who was going to be black herself as she was based on Grace Jones. Mind you Gary Groth even found these kinds of stories inbred and that’s painfully true when it’s more common for DC and Marvel writers and their ilk elsewhere to repeatedly riff on past stories and covers a lot, where it’s telling these are meant for those familiar with superheroes a lot to begin with. It would be mind-bogglingly rare to find superhero comics from any publisher to reference or allude to the likes of X-Ray Spex, XMal Deutschland, The Klinik, The Damned, The KLF, Cappella and Front 242, if these stories do exist at all in any capacity or shape, that goes to show you the average superhero cartoonist/writer’s not really that big into music themself.

Much less a wider variety of music whereas they’d feel the reverse towards a wider variety of comics in a way (to some extent), it’s even the case with most comics readers themselves where they’re usually more familiar with different kinds of comics than they are with their musical counterparts. But then again for the longest period of time, I actually listened to more music than I do with comics. Maybe not anymore as I actually spend more time listening to sermons these days, it’s still kind of telling that superhero media is weirdly self-referential at this point. A more future-forward superhero story would have to be one open to a much wider variety of influences, however disparate and unlikely they may be, not necessarily entirely unprecedented but different enough to stand on its own now that America’s in decline, so we might see less of DC and Marvel over time from then on.

Ride A White Horse

There are going to be massive changes in the future, not just when it comes to Jesus Christ returning on a white horse, but also economic collapses and a famine, as well as more severe pandemics and America getting judged real badly, that this has the potential to be more drastic than at the start of this decade. In fact the 2020s would be the decade about America’s true end, which would make the 2010s a prelude to it in a way. Then this makes the 1990s and the 2000s the height of America’s prowess, especially when it was the undisputed hyperpower as the sole superpower then. For those who were minors in the 1990s and 2000s, this would’ve coincided with a profound Americanisation of many cultures. Particularly in the realms of not only live action media and prose media, but also ACG media as well like many Disney productions. In hindsight during those years that despite bands like Aqua, The Prodigy, Ace of Base, Spice Girls, Blur, Oasis, Gorillaz, Daft Punk, Eiffel 65, Keane and Stereophonics finding a good degree of international success, their American counterparts were more universally successful the world over.

It’s kind of really obvious that American bands like My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, Pearl Jam, Paramore and the like repeatedly stole the show all over again, that if America were to truly decline we could end up experiencing a kind of dark ages not helped by it being exacerbated by a forthcoming civil war in the United States, a loomin World War three and an incoming pandemic that’s worse than the previous one. There was something like the black plague that hit the Middle Ages before, but this one will be much worse as it’s going to seriously wipe out many people in the west. A lot more given the United States has currently around 300 million plus people, then comes the Latin American countries which are also experiencing serious apostasy by now, that this pandemic will really wipe out a lot of unbelievers there. This could even spread to the Philippines given it’s also on the verge of this at any point, that it will really result in much more casualties that both coronavirus and the black plague ever did.

There’s a Norwegian woman who prophesised to Emmanuel Minos that World War Three will usher in far more casualties than the previous one did, making WWII look like child’s play as this one involves actual nuclear warfare. He transcribed the whole thing but wouldn’t get widely published and be made viral until years later, to the point where he finally saw it happen. Even then I think this would still result in another dark ages, but one marked by America’s downfall first and foremost. America might fancy itself as Rome but this only makes the comparison to the historical dark ages all the more apt, because the dark ages kind of began when the western Roman empire declined. Logically as Russia also sees itself as the third Rome, it is effectively the new eastern Roman empire in a sense. It might even succeed in taking over a good chunk of the western world (Canada and Europe) with it, effectively becoming the new seat of western civilisation. One would only wonder if this results in a new renaissance, given the Renaissance came after the Middle Ages.

The same woman also prophesised that those from the Global North might flee to the Global South in search of respite, despite also getting flack themselves over time. It doesn’t help when a good chunk of the western world gets nuked so much that it’s going to be hard growing crops with at least in the interim, that it’s possible those from irradiated parts of Europe and North America might flee to less irradiated parts of the world but also be met with the same flack they give to others. It’s kind of frightening to realise the extent of immense radiation reaching to other places like the soon to be dissolved United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France, that even if there are some places to grow crops with it’s going to be hard avoiding such an impact at times that you feel tempted to flee to somewhere else. Mind you there was an immense nuclear mishap in Ukraine that came to affect other European countries, that if countries like Russia were to get nuked by America it could greatly affect Scandinavia and the British Isles by the way.

And if America gets nuked in kind, this might also affect Canada and Mexico. Then Chernobyl, Nagasaki and Hiroshima like situations will be the norm in the west, it can be said that the entire western world would be a nuclear wasteland then. There will be a lot more ghost towns in the west because of how irradiated the west will be, that westerners will be this desperate for survival elsewhere. One could wonder if someone like myself might end up housing some of my favourite musicians seeking respite from nuclear radiation, meeting some of them in church one day. But the fact that much of Europe and the Americas will be nuked due to their own sins and apostasies says much about their spiritual situations, made worse by the fact that the west was like the heartland and vanguard of Christianity for centuries. Come the 21st century and perhaps earlier than that, the west has become deeply secularised. A case of intergenerational backsliding for centuries.

The Philippines might be next alongside South Korea that they too will be judged for their backsliding, as to warrant getting given over to China forever fo this. It would be a very different world from now where the world has been so affected by a nuclear war that others will be desperate to flee elsewhere for safety, even if it were possible to find a way to minimise so much radiation in the western world, people will still want and need to move elsewhere to avoid this pain soon enough or beforehand if they heed to the prophecies first. A new dark ages marked by not only an epidemic and a civil war in America, but also a nuclear world war where Hiroshima and Nagasaki like situations are the norm in the west and possibly the rest of the world to an extent. Then Jesus will return and the world will be destroyed again, only to make way for a new version of itself where animals no longer eat one another. A world where children can freely play with formerly venomous animals, where death is no more and so is darkness. Both literal darkness and a spiritual darkness.

A new world if there ever will be one in the future, a befitting end to a painful past marked by sin.

It all goes downhill

Dumitru Duduman was given a message by an angel (which are oftentimes divine messengers sent by God) that America is Mystery Babylon and it became this way because it kind of condoned or tolerated the introduction of idols into an otherwise Christian colony, once it became a superpower it became progressively more evil time. AA Allen said that American culture does have a habit of popularising or originating such filth, as to be the mother of nearly all the abominations that get unleashed to the planet. This becomes kind of obvious when it comes to the mainstreaming of smut, where although such materials did exist before and even well onto the 18th century, but what’s really astonishing is that this wouldn’t pick up much steam until the time of the sexual revolution where stories like Tropic of Cancer have effectively popularised the use of sexually explicit scenes in books.

Especially coupled with America’s ascendancy to superpower status that even when it didn’t originate pornography, it did get to popularise certain things like pornographic films and magazines, and even the very things that got Marquis de Sade jailed in 18th century France in the form of dark romance. These dark romance stories seem to involve stories of women getting sexually tortured by men, which seems to be right up Sade’s alley but one that’s widely enjoyed by many with their authors getting off scot-free. America’s transformation into the epicentre of moral and spiritual abomination is quite terrifying to behold, the fact that it’s practically Hell on Earth makes one wonder just how evil America is and would get at any point in time. It does make for a strange transformation to even witness a self-proclaimed Christian colony to indulge in these things, but it’s a very double-minded country on the verge of collapse.

I have indulged in sins myself, doing it despite feeling bad about it, though I do try to confess it to God and pray for others, to be honest. Maybe some Americans are like this themselves as well, or even the people I pray for just the same. But as AA Allen said that a country’s cultural character is judged by what it produces, so in the case with the United States it popularises both edifying materials and filth with the same gusto. A rather strange country if there ever was one that went from piety to decadence without developing a conscience in-between, since this is a take on a popular quote that’s been attributed to various people like Oscar Wilde over the years. The actual quote is that America went from barbarism to decadence without developing civilisation in-between, in the sense that America’s status as a superpower happened overnight compared to countries like Spain and France. Or better still Iran and China, which were around for more than 5000 years and are the very tools of indignation God will use to deal with America soon enough.

There’s actually a book published sometime in the 1960s called ‘Is The USA in Prophecy’ which talks about both America’s rise to power coupled with its decadence and Britain as a declining superpower, where if America is prophetic Babylon then it stands that Britain is its mother that will witness it die in some way as well as dying herself. Or at the very least the United Kingdom would finally dissolve into three separate countries again in centuries, with Northern Ireland finally reuniting with the rest of Ireland. It’s one of the earliest surviving documents, years before Duduman’s own revelation, that America is Mystery Babylon and it’s unfortunately rather rare. It’s also oddly not rare of a view either as others like David Wilkerson also hold it in ‘Set A Trumpet’, so it stands to reason that America is a new Babylon in the sense of setting a really bad example for other countries to follow. Whatever your sentiments or reasons are for hating America, it wouldn’t even surprise God as he knew it would turn into Babylon the Great over time.

There’s some talk in the Russophone corner of the Internet that America practically originated pop culture as we know it, not that European countries like Britain and Italy lack their own, but that America popularises things like Spider-Man and introduced innovations in media that originated in other countries like what animation is to France when it comes to things like the use of rotoscoping. It’s practically a version of motion-capture when it comes to capturing movements as realistically as possible, which would become the standard for not only American animation but also video games. People like the Fleischer brothers pioneered this technique that other animation studios like Russia’s Soyuzmultilm would come to use eventually, it should be noted that cartooning itself (which comics are very much a subset of this discipline) has roots elsewhere. But what America did is to introduce stories that remain popular to this day like Garfield and Peanuts, a mode of production where there’s a cartoonist who specialises in cartooning with a pencil and another who inks, and so on.

It’s kind of astonishing that a number of British comics in the 1970s and 1980s were in black and white, but to better compete with their American counterparts is to become just as colourful as they are. Come the 2020s and it’s the norm for 2000AD comics stories to be in colour, as the earlier ones were in black and white. Let’s not forget that American comics were among the first comics publications to be printed in much better quality paper, eventually moving onto glossy paper that became the gold standard for superhero publications around the world. Maybe not all as there was something like Bayan Knights in the late 2000s but the resulting publications were primarily in black and white, and on much cheaper paper than the glossy ones used for their US imported counterparts. American influence didn’t exactly get rid of British pop culture, but given America’s stronger presence as a current superpower that Britain would inevitably follow its lead anyways.

This also goes for other things like music where although guitars have existed for centuries, the electric guitar undoubtedly originated in the United States. It should be noted that electric guitars aren’t inherently evil in and of themselves, just as keyboards and music software aren’t evil in and of themselves, or for another matter popular music genres like pop, rock, jazz and hip hop. It is however unfortunate that a good number of musicians from the US canon were also at the forefront of popularising, if not originating, filth themselves be it Cher, Chuck Berry or Michael Jackson that it’s also a gold standard for musicians from other countries to emulate their leads. I feel if it weren’t for Cher flashing her bellybutton on telly and then wearing racier and more outrageous outfits later on, we wouldn’t have the likes of Australia’s Kylie Minogue and the like doing it themselves too. If it weren’t for Robert Johnson popularising devilry, then other musicians from far and wide wouldn’t do the same thing too.

If it weren’t for somebody creating New Kids on the Block as the white version of New Edition, we wouldn’t get K-Pop boy bands and it’s often suspected that they often take African American music for inspiration. It should be noted that Seo Taji and the Boys (one of the earliest K-Pop bands and so far among the very few non-prefab ones around) got their start in hip hop, which is an American import, and one of its members would go on to found YG Entertainment. K-Pop itself is no stranger to such devilry like its western counterpart, that it seems America is truly at the forefront of popularising filth and abomination. There’s practically no mistaking that rock, rap and modern pop are byproducts of US influence, that historically both Sweden (the country behind Roxette, The Cardigans and Ace of Base) and Britain (the country behind The Prodigy, Spice Girls and Wham) prioritised their own music above America’s. In fact Sweden even had to set up a kind of music education to keep its kids from being into American music, though it didn’t last long in a way as American music made inroads as it would in Britain.

It’s not inherently bad to like these musicians for as long as you don’t make idols out of them (to the best of one’s abilities, as I’ve fallen into this trap a lot before), but there’s really no mistaking that America’s at the forefront of popularising a lot of shameful things in life. Whether if this includes prefab boy bands at all but there’s really no getting around that Britain got the idea of making boy bands if it weren’t for America doing it first, so after New Edition we get Take That soon after. Denniz Pop didn’t just produce albums with Ace of Base, he’d also come to produce albums with the Backstreet Boys later on. In the same way there’s no mistaking that America also originated certain dance music genres like techno and house that this would hit Europe one day, where in Britain this led to the formation of acid house (which the Prodigy was a part of this scene early on) around the end of Margaret Thatcher’s reign. Actually it should be noted that Ace of Base also started out as a kind of techno band called Tech Noir, which goes to show you how influential America is to mass culture or pop culture.

If it also means popularising rather embarassing things or other worldly things, that America is going to be at the forefront of filth anyways. It could be argued we have America to blame for why things like porn magazines exist or arguably Barbie, since it turned out that this doll brand’s actually based on a cartoon prostitute named Lili. One would wonder if Denmark’s Aqua was weirldy prescient about this revelation when it came to their most infamous song called ‘Barbie Girl’ (practically their equivalent to The Prodigy’s ‘Smack My B Up’ in terms of controversially sexist lyrics), even when they weren’t aware of it at the time. With the revelation that Barbie is based on a cartoon prostitute makes her much more questionable than one would realise, especially when in tandem with occult imagery, that it seems America succeeds in popularising a lot more questionable things really. Either way, America is Mystery Babylon and will always be at the forefront of popularising spiritual abominations.

The most evil rat that ever lived

Now here’s another person insinuating that Walt Disney may have been into the occult himself to get his films used by certain agencies to indoctrinate or abuse people with, but then again I feel even when it’s not always obvious (though the clues are there in some films like Hell’s Bells and the theme parks like the 33 club or something), if you can tell a tree by its fruit then it will still emerge in some other way. Mind you Disney actually has a radio network in Latin America and when it comes to its Mexican branch, it has played certain songs of a curious (or suspicious) nature like INXS’s ‘Original Sin’, ‘Devil Inside’ and what else, then comes Red Hot Chili Peppers with things like ‘Give It Away’, ‘Dani California’ (which contains the lyrics ‘californication’ and ‘she’s my priestess, I’m her priest’) and the like and the same band that showed up to consecrate the Devil by wearing little else and then there’s ACDC who are no strangers to alluding to the Devil at various points.

I’m not kidding that Radio Disney Mexico actually played some of these songs at some point, even when I didn’t really listen to them (but then again the Instant Audio stations often tend to mention the songs in mind on their playlists, so you could get an idea of what played on them at any point. Let’s not forget that there are some people who allege that Taylor Swift’s also into the occult, as is Lady Gaga, that makes one wonder if that’s why they got so famous that their popularity takes on a Faustinian character. Or even one member of the Prodigy for another matter, since there’s a book where Maxim joined them after getting advice from a palmist. Unfortunately they ended up releasing a very controversial song that defined them for years, sort of like what Barbie Girl did for Aqua and both of them seem to revolve around sexism of some nature being released in both the late 1990s by the way, even if they never intended these songs to come off this way.

(Oh well there goes the Bible verses about the tongue being an uncontrollable fire, how one reaps what they sow, the sword never leaving the home and so on.)

Then again musicians flirting with the occult and the like is disturbingly common in the music industry, even Christians like those in Ace of Base and Hanson have flirted with it at some point, wherein something bad happened to both of them and got them closer to God eventually. Jenny Berggren has actually released a Christian album herself, just as Zac Hanson (one of the Hanson members) went on as a deacon of a local monastery or church. A case of God turning evil into good. But the weird thing about Disney as a corporation and cultural institution is that it’s associated with family entertainment, though it seems its true Satanic nature peeps through from time to time with things like Gravity Falls. This is a programme by Alex Hirsch that gained a cult following and is technically about twin siblings having supernatural misadventures, where the recurring enemy is a glorified Freemason symbol called Bill Cipher. He recently released a book with the character in mind, which seems more explicitly occult.

And it got published by Disney’s own publishing house, Hyperion. There’s also a book called Disney And The Bible, which is about Disney’s involvement in the occult and popularisation of vices like blapshemy and infidelity through Touchstone. This was an adult label used to promote films that wouldn’t technically fall under Disney proper, but as of late from buying 20th Century Films and Marvel it’s pretty redundant in a way. But I guess nothing new is under the Sun, as Disney still continues to promote filth like Daredevil, which is surprising that for a character who openly resembles the Devil himself, this never gained much ire from Christians. Even when they should know that as the Devil appears as an angel of light, they should be alarmed if he appears as a superhero out of the blue in Marvel comics. Or perhaps Cow and Chicken at some point where the Red Guy was even known as the Devil at some point.

It’s still pretty shocking to me why there’s little Christian backlash to things like Cow and Chicken and I am Weasel when you have a rather sympathetic portrayal of the Devil, or cartoon characters like Daredevil because he’s a Christian who dresses like Satan for some reason. As opposed to the immense backlash Harry Potter got, that as a Redditor said many Christians are worldly (even myself at some point or another a lot). So their discernment of things is shockingly poor, or that they do discern things but seem so desensitised to evil things as to continue enjoying them in some capacity (as it is with myself at times). So it’s no surprise why there’s so little backlash towards cartoon characters like Damian Hellstrom (Son of Satan), Satana, Daredevil and Illyana Rasputina, even when it should make sense to take issue with them as they’re openly demonic and Satanic. It’s no surprise that Disney played a role in desensitising people to sin and the Devil, even when it’s not always the main driver of these phenomena. No wonder why we’re so desensitised to these things that it doesn’t seem strange, even when it’s far from good.

Why it’s like this is because we became worldly, even when we shouldn’t be.

A world without America

When it comes to a post-American landscape, if you believe Christian prophecy, it’s got a lot to do with America being Mystery Babylon itself. The nation-state said to corrupt the entire planet with its filth and abominations, as to warrant declining real badly and then getting destroyed. Though the cultural side of things can be harder to patch up that a substitute would have to do, however awkward it maybe (which is how I feel about sermons from things I follow or like). Actually I have been interceding for a lot of people, both strangers and relatives, to cope with certain phenomena like traditional Han Chinese clothing and precolonial clothing getting popularised here in the Philippines. Or to those coming from Ghana, Canada and the like with something similar, that this could lead to very different versions of both Canada and the Philippines by then.

The answers might turn out differently, in the case with the Philippines we might see much less English speakers here, or with so much western influence getting revoked in the Philippines that the only traces are in both religion and names, due to the Philippines not living up to what it proclaims itself to be that over time it will become like any other East Asian nation to a huge degree. Admittedly this is what I wanted since I don’t like how westernised the Philippines is, though the actual answer might be much more than what I wanted. But as a consequence of the Philippines not living up to what its own reputation that in the future, it will be a lot more like its neighbours (including China and Vietnam, which it will look up to more once it becomes socialist) than at present. One where Mandarin replaces English as the other national language of the Philippines, a very different Philippines that’s more sympathetic to China whether if others like it or not.

I have prayed for various Canadian cartoonists to cope with Canada joining Russia, as well as the popularisation of things like Swedish music there, which would also result in a very different Canada as well. It would be nice if something like Georgian folk costumes and Kazakh folk costumes get popularised there, but realistically there’ll still be a demarcation between formal and informal clothing. It’s even like this in China where there’s a distinction between hanfu as worn by commoners and in casual situations, and hanfu as worn by the upper classes and during more formal circumstances. The only real difference this time is that the American version of casual clothing would be no more or at least substantially reduced, particularly when it comes to rather racy garments that draw ire from Christians a lot, not helped by that some clothing companies make a deal with the Devil. To the point where we might even see the last of them in this decade.

Considering that a number of European folk costumes are so elaborately sewn and patterned, that it’s more feasible for them to become influences for a new type of formal clothing in Canada. Likewise a good number of hanfu can be impractical in some circumstances that they could become the new standard or canon for formal or fashionable clothing in the Philippines, with western athleisure being reserved for farming (and may become a marker of provinciality over time). Casual clothing wouldn’t disappear from these countries as much as they take on entirely new permutations and influences, just as formal clothing might take on another permutation for the same reason and circumstance. It’s plausible that athleisure might not disappear from the Philippines but might take on a rustic character instead, seeing that hanfu might not seem practical for farming here as to be more popular among those in more cosmopolitan areas and anywhere close to China.

Conversely speaking, if something like Kazakh and Uzbek folk clothing were to get popularised in Canada, they might result in a new kind of Canadian street style though that’s got to do with Kazakhs and Uzbeks having learnt to dress well for the climate they’re in for centuries. Seeing Canada as we know it is formed much more recently with the earliest European immigrants coming from the more temperate climates predominanting in western Europe, but then again Kazakhstan’s close to China so there’s going to be some cross-pollination between the two before. Something Canada lacked, because it’s so isolated from Eurasia. Getting Swedish, Danish and Norwegian folk costumes popularised in Canada doesn’t constitute that much of a learning curve compared to say Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan as they’re also similar to Canada, and Canada has a good number of citizens descended from these countries’ peoples. It wouldn’t be any different if Swedish, Danish and Norwegian music got popularised there.

If because Canada has been exposed to them before to some extent when it comes to bands like Aqua, though in a post-American landscape where American influence has been largely revoked and undone as much as America disappears without much of a trace, such bands become weirdly precious and valuable as reminders that a country called America used to rule the world and its airwaves. Maybe not necessarily so but their own US contemporaries might be mostly forgotten by then, like you’d have to jog your memory in 2063 to know who or what the Backstreet Boys are. Aqua might be seen as a quaint band beloved by senior citizens by then, the equivalent to what the Platters (also an American band) are currently seen as. Let’s not forget that the Backstreet Boys will be judged for their own sins or vices, that no sooner or later more scandals will emerge in public.

Nick Carter might not just be outed for abusing more women (even in snuff videos alongside animals), but also for cheating on his wife by having a fan for a mistress who’s even younger than both of them. AJ McLean has done something similar before, though it would be terrifying if others like Kevin, Howie and Brian might also have their own. If I’m not mistaken, Brian Littrell’s in the news for even suing a police officer for ‘intruding’ on his beach property. He’s been doing this since 2023, while there’s no mistaking that he himself also wants privacy from time to time. But it does make one wonder if he’s not as nice to the general public as previously assumed to be, often telling visitors to back off whilst indulging in his band’s fans in their cruises. He’s kind of okay with getting attention but for as long as it comes from his fans, not from curious or unsuspecting strangers who happen to stumble upon his property from time to time.

I remember this sermon on YouTube insinuating that people like him are arrogant (though I also have this as well), another on the radio said that people like him are wicked. Or worse than you expect them to be, to the point where it seems Brian Littrell’s much unfriendlier to strangers than one realises, moreso that he’s fairly famous. There’s also a picture of Brian Littrell next to what appears to be a pentagram, but it’s not easily searchable for now. It’s even more surprising that he’s a practising Christian, but with people insinuating that he might be evil, so it seems either he isn’t sincere about worshipping God or that he’s gotten worldlier than he should be. Not helped by that he continues to be with his rather unsaved, unrepentant band members for so long that it’s not surprising why he turned out this way, mind you I’ve been around trolling websites fairly often nearly more than a decade ago and it’s only now that I’ve effectively abandoned them for something more edifying.

I even bullied a classmate because others were doing it until it got to me eventually, or similar things I’ve done recently so it proves the Bible right. Even then it does make you wonder how corrupting America (as Mystery Babylon) really gets, albeit in ways one doesn’t anticipate and expect, in terms of having a lot of globally famous musicians who either have dark secrets or are often engaged in scandals themselves. It should be noted that singer Ariana Grande is no stranger to taking men away from their significant others, but what really broke the camel’s back is that she had an affair with a married man who recently had a child with his wife. She might not be the only singer to do this, given AJ and the rest might be doing this for years. The Bible also said that marrying a divorced person could usually constitute as infidelity, as is merely lusting at somebody or something. This isn’t unique to American celebrities either, but that infidelity does often lead to divorce and consuming smut also risks ruining one’s love for their spouse, among other things (it’s like this with me before a lot).

What America has done is to kind of popularise and glamourise this, since many of these people who do these things are in showbiz themselves. A lot more people are exposed to popular music, Hollywood movies and programmes, than they are to more highbrow stuff that inevitably it kind of normalises these actions alongside things like polyamory (another form of consensual nonmonogamy like polygyny of yore), also a number of these celebrities doing this are those people are aware of before. In some cases these are people that fans grew up with together in a way, in being not only privy to these things but also kind of normalising these actions in another way. It’s like this with sexualised garments that people like Cher and Catherine Bach have effectively popularised and normalised over time, mind you short shorts were once considered really risque that Bach had to wear tights with those later on. Cher also got into trouble for showing her bellybutton in public, but come the 2010s and 2020s these garments have become normal, everyday wear for women who may not even be prostitutes themselves.

(Or are they in a way?)

There’s a Bible verse that explicitly links sexualised garments to hyperssexuality that even if it’s not true for all women who dress this way, it’s often like this with a number of female celebrities which proves it right. I have dressed immodestly before and I also struggle with lust, which is likely also the same with one cousin of mine who lost her own husband to her lusting over the books she reads (the whole reaping what you sow thing). It’s very much the case with somebody like Britney Spears who admitted to reading smutty books and wanking, having gone through men like tissues and wears immodestly too, or her own contemporary Christina Aguilera as well. There’s a blogger that I follow who doesn’t like Christian modesty and get this, she doesn’t just appear in sexy calendars herself, she even reads porn too. Cher had dressed like this and also went through husbands like tissue paper, or Ariana Grande but with boyfriends and then having an affair with someone else’s husband. Even Beyonce’s actually like this in addition to doing witchcraft herself, that she even has affairs with women too.

Though victim blaming is wrong but it’s not particularly coincidental that a number of women who elect to dress this way also tend to be really horny themselves, that makes one wonder why some men want more modestly dressed, submissive women as their wives and girlfriends. Admittedly I struggle with this towards a former classmate before, but I feel this has to also be reframed in light of women’s own struggles with lust, that makes the need to heed to a husband’s advice all the more meaningful. Like if your husband tells you to stop dressing this way, going to certain websites/places, consuming certain media that’s not edifying and so on, or reading smut then you have to heed to him however awkward it may be. At times the Bible does speak highly of being celibate, being away from distractions (including annoying women). It should be noted that in the other Bible verse, God does say that if someone’s unable to control their lust so badly they should be able to channel it through marriage. Than to go on dumping one person after another, consuming porn and masturbating.

(I’ve gotten into trouble for consuming porn before, this is also true for my cousin in a way, it’s often this way like losing pets or in her case, losing a husband in her lifetime.)

I said many times before that America’s a very double-minded country on the verge of civil instability that it’s also due for physiogeographical instability, Celestial’s prophecy about Florida getting destroyed does have some implications for the Backstreet Boys. Seeing how and why they’re largely residing there that should an earthquake ever destroy part of Florida, there’s a possibility that they’ll die for being evil and rebellious, for God won’t let them live for long. Even if they don’t seem to be outright evil at first, well Satan can appear as an angel of light. They might be hiding something evil in them, with a feeling they know they’re doing wrong but do it anyways. I have made idols out of other people, things and bands before, though it’s kind of sad and sadly weird why Brian Littrell even enables this from his fans. Odder still is that he wanted to work in ministry before, which is something his own contemporary Zac Hanson ended up doing in a way (since he’s also much younger than him). Unfortunately he ended up mmmaking God even mmmader than ever before, though it’s also like this with me towards sermons before. One would suspect Zac’s own mistake is what got him closer to God, as God can turn evil into good.

He’s also not above his own faults, which is why he faced a backlash from his fans from getting arrogance into his head multiple times before (I also struggle with this a lot, along with anger and unforgiveness from being traumatised a lot). Or Ace of Base for another matter just the same, that the Berggren siblings had their grandmother killed and one of them got traumatised for life, which is also what brought Jenny closer to God and she admitted it’s own fault why this happened (confessing one’s sins and owning up to it). I have been unrepentant in my own sins before and I’m trying really hard to do right, even if it tends to backfire despite trying hard not to sin. I try really hard not to be bitter, angry, unforgiving, arrogant, rebellious, disobedient, unbelieving, idolatrous and horny, though at times it doesn’t go as expected (and getting affected by those a lot) and I still struggle with those after deliberately giving into them before. It’s probably like this with Zac and Jenny before, or Brian Littrell for another matter.

Though I’m afraid Brian Littrell and friends might get the boot for their own unrepentant evils/sins/vices that ultimately they’ll all die together when Florida gets destroyed, it does make one wonder why would America house such confusing and contradictory materials, in some regards far moreso than others have done due to it being such a superpower that ultimately it is evil incarnate and Hell on Earth. Evil might still persist in the world for as long as the headquarters move somewhere to Europe, either Russia or most likely Italy as the Vatican City is within it and it will house the Antichrist in a way. But it’s still telling that America is Babylon the Great in a way others aren’t and why it will go away for good, along with its influence around the world.

It never really influenced me much

I have listened to K-Pop myself and for some curious reason, I never really get obsessive or curious over any K-Pop band or musician for long the way I do with European bands like Ace of Base, Massive Attack, The Prodigy and Aqua, nor am I actually that influenced by them beyond some interest in South Korea itself in a way. I don’t think I’m really that heavily influenced by any K-Pop band or musician to the extent that I don’t really bother namedropping any one K-Pop member the way I do with Ace of Base members when it comes to learning Indonesian. These are from my notebooks and examples include ‘Jenny membukakan pintu untuk Malin’ (Jenny Berggren’s the younger sister of Malin Berggren, who’s actually the middle child in their family) and ‘Kartu tersebut akan beritahu Ulf Jonas akan pulang’ (Jonas Berggren is the oldest sibling in the family, Ulf Ekberg’s the only nonrelative and was also involved in white supremacy at some point). Nor creating characters resembling any K-Pop celebrity the way I do with the Prodigy and Massive Attack, mind you I based the characters of Fabrice Tientcheu (a forensic scientist) and Colin Sallow (a young politician) after the two oldest surviving members (Maxim and Liam Howlett). Then there’s the Nigerian lawyer Babatunde Osofisan who’s clearly Grant Marshall and the Florentine economist Gaetano Saturni who’s based on Robert Del Naja, not to mention I even have a habit of mirroring mirrored Ace of Base, Massive Attack and Aqua fansites.

Let’s not forget I have also listened to the likes of Altan, Clannad and Capercaillie where these bands piqued my interests in both Irish and Scottish Gaelic, wherein I even bothered learning those for a time being. It’s kind of weird to think not a single K-Pop band actually influenced me to learn Korean in any way, where any K-Pop band has seriously influenced some of the people I have encountered or followed online in any way before. I actually know somebody who does fanart of both Backstreet Boys and Stray Kids, despite being into the Backstreet Boys at some point I don’t like them anymore. But it’s strange that I never really gotten into any K-Pop band or musician, let alone for as long as I have with these bands to the point of mirroring archived fansites mentioning them in any capacity. Let alone namedropping any K-Pop member when learning a new language the way I have with Ace of Base and Aqua members, that it seems whatever influence K-Pop bands have on me is very negligible. The influence they have on me is likely not that tangible, beyond some interest in the K-Pop industry and Korean culture, that it’s kind of strange I never created characters resembling K-Pop musicians. I never namedrop any K-Pop musician when learning a new language like Indonesian, never bothered archiving fansites about them in any way I have with Ace of Base, Massive Attack and Aqua.

It’s not entirely absent but it’s not particularly noticeable in my life that it seems whatever interest I have in K-Pop is more likely to be in passing, since I don’t really get particularly attached to any K-Pop band for some reason. I neither like nor dislike K-Pop that much, but I never really gotten into any K-Pop musician or band that much for that long. The music isn’t bad, but it never really obsessed me much. I’m not entirely immune to K-Pop’s charms but it’s something that I never really got obsessive over in any way, but that I never really developed much interest in any K-Pop band to the point of actively looking for any fansite about any one of them really.

Kings and queens

We have two prophecies about the end of America as we know it, the first regarding a forthcoming world war not seen in years (the afformented hot war where countries attack one another with nuclear weapons), and the second regarding a forthcoming US civil war not seen in years and these will coexist with one another. Resulting in a significantly weakened Untied States that if a new civil war were to occur in America whilst WWIII happens in the background, then it’s rendered powerless to keep its allies from falling to its enemies. But America is Mystery Babylon, the prophesised country said to corrupt the planet with its filth and abominations, one that will fall tremendously in most people’s lifetimes at this point in history. One would wonder if American influence is already getting undone to an extent but most especially in Canada and Europe due to the US’s own desire to get more territory but at the expense of its own allies’ sovereignties, what would happen if something similar also happens in the Philippines?

Or at least something that might happen in the very near future? The bad thing about American influence in the Philippines is that we also tend to follow and imitate the very worst America offers to the planet, whether if it’s porn magzines and films, butt-enhancing garments (as if ordinary leggings and short shorts aren’t revealing enough), or even things like Mormonism for instance which some consider to be a heresy or a false church. Mormonism is something that originated in America, though similar things could be said of Pentecostalism. But then again Pentecostalism is legitimately Christian, even if not all of its pastors are true teachers and prophets (wolves in sheep’s clothing). It’s even surreal to think that a country like America popularises both sanctifying things like Pentecostalism and soul-corroding things like pornographic magazines, that it truly is a very double-minded country on the verge of civil and physiogeographical instability. It will collapse at any time, due to being very divided given its bipartisan culture wars.

It’s true that China’s not above its own shortcomings like its own treatment of Christians, but America’s even more disappointing because it openly professes to being Christian. Yet it also popularises or originates so much filth and abominations, that it’s possible its Christian nature seems like a mask used to conceal something that will be revealed in due time. Whether if this includes butt-enhancing garments and cone bras is up to anybody’s guess, but if dressing modestly doesn’t just involve not showing skin but also not calling attention to the body in another way then these are immodest. I kind of struggled with immodesty before where I even went about without shorts whenever I wore a skirt (I usually don’t do this anymore as of late), I also have entertained thoughts of making my own trousers though I need 2 metres of fabric to do this as well as certain tools like scissors, patterns and pens to do the job. As well as figuring out what to do with said pattern when I’m going to consider making my own trousers at all. So the transition to real modesty can be hard.

Whether if these garments are immodest because they entice lust or not, the answer can be found in a Bible verse where a woman who dresses like this also has a prostitute’s mores. This may not be the case for other women who do dress like that (or at least think they do), but unfortuantely a number of women who choose to dress this way also tend to be really horny. I actually know a blogger who’s like this, dresses sexy and hasn’t just appeared in sexy calendars herself, she even cheats on her husband with another person. Then there’s popstar Christina Aguilera who thinks it’s empowering to be both sexual and sexy, even if this resulted in tensions between herself and her boyfriends whenever she cheats on them with women. I did dress immodestly before and still struggle with lust, so does one of my cousins that sometime in the future she might admit to wanking to porn to stop getting too stressed out or something. So it’s not a particularly casual association, but it’s something that confirms what the Bible has suspected all along, in ways that get really obvious.

That actually makes the calls to modesty and submission to husbands and boyfriends all the more potent, where what if your husband or your future husband doesn’t like it whenever you dress in a way that entices unwanted sexual attention. If God is jealous towards his bride whenever she goes after idols, it’s no different with how certain men feel about their wives acting in ways that deliberate unneeded sexual attention. Unfortunately it seems the more popular diction is that women should be free to dress whatever they want to do, but men have to dress in a way that pleases women which makes for a weird subversion of the intended order (which I struggled with before towards another, wherein I lost pets along the way due to my disobedience). One might wonder if this is why some men want submissive women to begin with, when the women around them don’t want to follow their better judgement and would rather do whatever they want to do. It’s also kind of telling some of the earliest female celebrities to popularise these immodest fashions are Americans themselves.

You may know them as Josephine Baker, Cher, Madonna, Patti LaBelle and who else, that they seem to be cool female role models for a number of women in the past before. Somebody like Jenny McCarthy thought that Madonna was a cool female role model when she was younger, but she got into trouble because of how controversial Madonna’s body of work was (and likely still is) as to get destroyed. Older women alive today would’ve felt the same way around Patti LaBelle and Cher, the latter who even said that she’s from Hell. Younger women would feel similarly around the likes of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Katy Perry and Chappell Roan, but it’s depressing that the latter two have a lot in common in the sense of being brought up Christian but getting more successful when they got worldlier that makes one if it’s worth loving the world at the expense of getting better as a Christian themself. (Or Ace of Base’s Berggren siblings at some point where a stalker killed their grandmother and traumatised one of them for long.)

It’s true the likes of Ace of Base and Aqua aren’t any better, but the difference is that their home countries (Sweden and Denmark) are no longer empires but has-beens at this point, so whatever influence they yield at present (both good and bad) is limited compared to what America’s been doing for years. This was even more obvious in the 1990s and 2000s where America was the undisputed sole superpower enough to be called a hyperpower, which makes its ability to influence the planet for the worse even more potently disturbing. Sweden may have its Britney Spears in Robin but she’s no match for the real McCoy, for as long as America was a legitimate hyperpower at the height of Spears’s fame. Come the 2010s and 2020s where it seemed America’s power is getting to dwindle more and more, that it’s astonishing South Korea’s own K-Pop industry has become a major tastemaker for today’s youth. Maybe not all young (and younger) people, but it’s noticeable enough to even get airplay on Mexican radio. Then again K-Pop’s not any better if you believe Nakita, that it too will crash one day in the future.

And eventually it would be uncool to like K-Pop and South Korea, which gets much worse should China and Russia actually become truly beloved the world over, that in the future it’s the Chinese that will become the cool East Asians whether if you like it or not. It’s still frightening to think much US influence will get revoked in the future, but it’s inevitable because much of it’s corrupting and corroding. It seems just as inevitable that a famine will actually come to America en masse, though similar famines have existed in American history before, these tend to be very isolated and rare instances at that. But America has had recurring issues with food insecurity that a famine would really be a logical escalation of these problems, one caused by Donald Trump’s blunders in an effort to build up the US economy, though it seems his efforts are beginning to backfire in ways he’s not immediately aware of. Rising hyperinflation coupled with both a forthcoming civil war and a forthcoming world war would further exacerbate these problems, resulting in a severely defeated United States.

And this might be one of many steps to the worst period in American history yet to come.

The other side of Sweden

When it comes to the usual, generally Anglophone discourse surrounding Sweden’s religious conditions, there’s a tendency to assume it’s really secular and at times Sweden may even get comeuppance for its own backsliding. But if God does save a remnant in this country, then it still has something of a practising Christian populace. There are even websites that attest to at least some Swedes’ willingness to worship God, one notable example would be musician Jenny Berggren from the band Ace of Base though she does slip up (well what Christian doesn’t, famous or not?). I’ve been praying for her and her bandmates (most of them are even her own older siblings), that it’s possible these will be answered in due time and I might meet, interact or encounter them one day per the devotional I read when praying for her own sister Malin. I remember this interview saying that even if she might have had moments of giving into the world a lot due to being in a secular environment at the height of her band’s fame, she said that she turned to God more after a terrible incident involving a stalker who traumatised Malin for life and killed their grandmother, that it’s possible he’s using this to keep them back on track, spiritually speaking.

She might not be the only one around as it’s plausible her own family members and also Ulf Ekberg may come around to God in due time, perhaps in a way that might surprise me one day in the future. But it’s also a sign that Sweden isn’t really that secular if you go beyond popular stereotypes and find a version of it that’s in some regards a more ordinary country, or perhaps a country that’s really no different from the others at times. This includes Christians and these do exist in Sweden enough to have Christian websites be catered for their spiritual needs, but I feel Sweden seems more secular than America because it doesn’t have strongly bipartisan politics and even if it does have a Christian party, I don’t think Swedish Christianity’s that strongly entwined with right wing politics to the same extent that its American counterpart does. It doesn’t indulge in culture wars that often or much either, though my experience with it online is very limited. Sweden seems more secular because its own brand of Christianity isn’t that strongly entwined with right wing politics the way American Christianity came to be, to the point of rarely ever engaging with culture wars that much. Not necessarily in for secular things, but not exactly given to a desire for power either.

Similar things can be said of the Christianities that are found in the Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, possibly Britain and Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Finland, where the only things conservative about them are their stances on LGBT and sex for most of the part, though I could be wrong about Ireland. But it seems most of the Evangelical websites that I go to, specifically those in English, often tend to come from America itself and with it comes very American attitudes and sensibilities. American preoccupations, mindsets and mentalities that wouldn’t particularly translate well even to other western countries, where it seems American Christianity is as politically charged as it’s pious. Aggressively contrarian in many, if not most, Evangelical American circles and a recurring desire to get even with the world (though I kind of engage in it at times in a way). Even if not all American Christians are this hung up on such ideals like stay at home motherhood, it’s a fairly popular school of thought for a number of them. America seems more religious than Sweden isn’t just a matter of quantity, but also a case of its own brand of Christianity being this entwined with right wing politics.

That’s not to say a version of it doesn’t exist in Sweden, given Ulk Ekberg was involved in a Neo-Nazi group at some point, America’s really peculiar in the western world for its habit of closely associating Evangelical Christianity with political power of the right wing persuasion, that manifests as thinking it’s more Christian to be capitalist than socialist despite the Bible’s disdain for material gain. It’s more Christian to be xenophobic than to even bother treating immigrants (alien or not) with the same dignity as one would with native-born citizens, it’s more Christian to be aggressively conservative than to even bother finding common ground with feminists at times. When it comes to the subject of feminism in Christian circles, it’s pretty vexing even outside of America, but I feel it’s more obvious when it comes to countries really privy to America’s influence like the Philippines, where being a feminist is seen as one of the most anti-Christian things ever. It’s likely not nonexistent in Sweden but from my experience going to Swedish language Christian websites, it’s likely more muted as most Swedish Christians don’t seem that actively involved in the culture wars themselves.

Not necessarily as irreligious as outsiders make it out to be perhaps other than quantity of believers, but more in the lines of being not too involved in right wing politics enough to be effectively its own entity and planet.

Whither K-Pop

Nakita has a lot of videos concerning the spiritual state of the K-Pop industry and by extension, its originator South Korea itself, that it seems less appealing from the inside out. Not just that K-Pop trainees have to undergo grueling schedules to get to where they are or could be if they never become K-Pop musicians at all (E-Jay auditioned as one but ended up writing songs for the film ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’ instead), but there’s also the odd possibility of Satanic rituals getting done behind close doors that some K-Pop producers’ and musicians’ ascent to popularity takes on a more dubiously Faustinian quality. No different from their western counterparts to the extent of K-Pop musicians repeatedly alluding to the occult and the Devil himself, for they are rebellious and proud per the Bible’s stance on the same. There are even people who also said that JY Park is a false teacher who leads people astray with his dubious teachings and equally dubious music, which would explain why Stray Kids are called Stray Kids. He might even molest all members behind closed doors, but it’s not hidden to God and it will be found out in public.

I feel the issue of idolatry would be the same if somebody substitutes BTS for INXS, but what will differ is a change in sentiment towards South Korean mass culture/Hallyu. I suppose if more scandals were to be uncovered surrounding the K-Pop industry that it might even become unfashionable to publicly admit to liking K-Pop and Hallyu, that it may become highly stigmatised in the future. The issue of idolatry would remain if something like Hungarian, Romanian, Swedish and Polish music were to get really popularised in Canada, but it would become more socially acceptable to partake in anti-Korean sentiment there that to defend K-Pop is to be an outcast. And even then K-Pop is pretty questionable in and of itself, where you have others admitting they couldn’t get into K-Pop because they found the male musicians to be too effeminate and cartoonish. That’s not to say K-Pop boy bands and male solo musicians are necessarily effeminate, but they do things that are really strange for bands like Backstreet Boys and One Direction to regularly do. It’s not uncommon for K-Pop boy band members to dye their hair in strange colours, wear makeup and act cutesy. It would be really weird if many Backstreet Boys members did the same.

(The Backstreet Boys would also be judged for the same things their K-Pop counterparts do, to the point where they all die ingloriously as well as get found out for adultery, sex trafficking and filming snuff videos featuring women, children and animals.)

The western male musicians who do regularly wear makeup in any way are far likelier to be not at all from prefabricated boy bands, something like those from the Prodigy, Tokio Hotel, Culture Club, Duran Duran, Bauhaus, The Damned and the like, that if Bill Kaulitz had been a boy band member (if both Robbie Williams and Harry Styles are any indication), then he’d have to put on a facade of being somebody contrary to his usual presentation. Then again it’s possible it’s not uncommon for western boy bands to be molested by their producers, that they too get corrupted spiritually over time provided when occult activity’s involved at all (even Boyzone’s Shane Lynch said this). This makes their Korean counterparts even more peculiar given how popular they really are outside of South Korea, the way Japanese boy bands aren’t to the same extent and even those who aren’t from prefab bands aren’t well-known to the general public outside of Japanophiles. K-Pop might be popular among certain sectors of the general public, but it’s something that gets more international airplay than J-Pop does, at least for now if K-Pop were to end for real.

That’s from my experience listening to K-Pop not only on local (Philippine) radio stations but also their Mexican counterparts like Radio Disney (believe it or not, it’s still a thing in Latin America for now as the original one’s gone as it will sold to Brazil’s Globo to become Radio Jovem or something due to Disney’s failings), that K-Pop is really more popular among overseas audiences in a way J-Pop isn’t that you can be into K-Pop without really being into anime productions. It’s possible for one’s interest in J-Pop to grow independent of being into anime, but they’re generally entwined not just due to the nature of anime soundtracks containing those but also an overall Japanophilia. In the Philippines I kind of get the impression that Hallyu/South Korean mass culture’s more popular among non-anime fans, but it could be that Hallyu’s better marketed to those outside of geek circles. And even then it’s strange why would both South Korea and the Philippines, both East Asian countries with substantial Christian populations, would openly partake in idolatry that they will get comeuppances for what they do as to be given over to China forever.

South Korea might end up reuniting with North Korea, that the later version of Hallyu (if it were to persist in some way) would evolve to fit the new Korean reality at best. But even then the K-Pop industry as we know it might not exist anymore and likely the same for offshoots like P-Pop, where if a P-Pop industry were to grow substantially and since these musicians are openly referred to as idols, that such an industry and likely a degree of Korean (and moreso Western/American) influence in the Philippines will be revoked forever. If because the Philippines loves its sins and chooses to do evil, that the things that make it distinctive in East Asia will either be revoked or minimised, that eventually in the near future the Philippines will really be no different from the rest of its neighbours in most regards. South Korea would be no different either as it’s been suspected that K-Pop takes its cues from American music and more specifically African American music, quite unsurprisingly some of the earliest K-Pop musicians like Seo Taji were also into hip hop at some point, that such an industry would collapse and get revoked over time as well. Ultimately the K-Pop industry and its offshoots will be over, same goes for the J-Pop idol industry that it will look very different in the future.

And even if J-Pop were to continue existing in the future, it would be one where there are no openly proclaimed idols at all. It would be a different music industry in the wider East Asian region by then where there were once prefab boy bands and girl groups, now there are going to be more K-Rock, Trot, K-Rap and Ballad musicians as Trot is a genre specific to South Korea. There might still be singers who don’t write their own songs and play instruments, there might still be pop bands in the molds of Aqua and Ace of Base, but the boy band and girl group schools will be over by then. If because with these bands there’s a tendency to deliberate cultish interest in them, where members have to adopt personae to appeal to these people regardless of who they really are in person. And even their social media presence is more likely to be highly curated, considering that it might not fully reflect on what else interests them offline. It would be frightening if somebody like AJ McLean doesn’t have affairs with his fans (same with Nick Carter), but also films himself abusing women and animals (which Nick also does) that goes to show you their own public online presences don’t fully represent their actual personalities, given the nature of dark web.

And it would be pretty frightening if Nick Carter also films himself abusing women and animals mixed with Satanic rituals, that there will even come a time when all the Backstreet Boys will show up onstage dressed as demons and flashing the Satanic pentagram onscreen that makes you wonder who they actually serve, and it’s much likelier they don’t really serve God at all, despite Brian Littrell proclaiming himself to be a Christian. This is also true for their K-Pop counterparts and why such curated personae exist, even when the musicians themselves don’t consistently live up to it even in private and online. It’s not necessarily wrong to be in a vocal group and boy bands really do have their roots in doo-wop, but the way boy bands and girl groups are made deliberate idolatry in their fans that it’s likely why such affections exist in the first place. To the extent it’s wiser to do a Zac Hanson than to do a Brian Littrell, losing fans by mistake only to come closer to God and do the Great Commission (that Littrell himself wanted to do at some point). A would-be member named Burk Parsons went on to become a pastor instead, dodging a bullet that would’ve had fans writing pornographic stories about him by then. (This would’ve been called visuals at the height of BSB’s popularity.)

The way such obsession’s engineered and deliberated to even induce sexual obsessions with them at various points, even if it’s not unique to boy bands as others undergo this in a way as well, that even if not all boy band fans (much less K-Pop and BSB fans) remain like this, but it’s terribly not uncommon to find pornographic fanfictions with K-Pop and BSB really. And why it speaks volumes to this sort of engineered rebellion and idolatry that those who could’ve formed families (sometimes it doesn’t go as expected due to their own shortcomings affecting things) end up getting really devoted to those bands instead. The problem’s the same if you substitute Stray Kids with Stray Cats, but what’s different with K-Pop is how upfront it is about these things as to warrant getting removed for good. To close things though I didn’t get into any K-Pop band for real, I do have my moments of idolatry towards musicians and bands as to get disappointed at times, and I listened to K-Pop before until God told me to stop listening to this and eventually I did. Angelamarie Ucci said that idols can disappoint people (as it did to me before), that there’s a current backlash to Taylor Swift (her former favourite musician) for having a man she truly loves in her life.

It’s like this with one musician, though I’ve prayed for it, it does prove Ucci’s point right. She’s likely praying for Taylor Swift too and will be saved in due time, though it remains to be seen if it gets fulfilled at all, but ultimately there’s something about the showbiz industry that deliberates obsessive behaviours towards otherwise unlikable people that it feels like a cosmic prank played by Satan to go after people the public doesn’t genuinely trust and like all the time and why idolatry’s bad, which is something I still struggle with at times, to the point where things happen if I can’t worship God and Mammon. I do pray for them, though some will be answered in due time, as for others it might not be answered at all if they continue to do evil, so said the Lord.

How would fashion be without America?

I suspect if American influence were to be reduced at the very least, the less powerful America gets over time, that this would also affect the global fashion industry to a possible extent. That’s not to say casual clothing will be entirely done away with, as there was a distinction between formal and informal clothing in China before, most especially the differences between the more educated classes and those involved in agriculture. I suspect if the Philippines were to willingly ally with China the more America makes a lot of disastrous mistakes towards its allies, considering how Canada feels about it enough to have its citizens patronise local products more that it’s possible American fashion will be considered passe and unstylish by then. If something like hanfu were to get popularised big time here, alongside pre-colonial clothing, that it’s plausible the rural areas are going to be strongholds of western fashion as we recognise it as.

But primarily because rural areas are generally isolated from urban areas unless if the locals there have good Internet connections to get around in some way, also if you have people involved in agriculture that they’re more likely to dress practically. Though practical, agricultural hanfu did exist but I feel it’s still going to be part of a phenomenon that would be first popularised in cosmopolitan areas like suburbs and cities, albeit one that might affect Philippine clothing in very unexpected or perhaps creative ways. As a lot of hanfu are designed to have a 2D effect, that’s being designed without much regard for the human body. To the extent that if hanfu were to get popularised in the Philippines, Filipiniana (both the familiar variety and the precolonial one) might also be shaped by the same design philosophy hanfu always has.

That and Filipinos pairing or combining Filipiniana with hanfu in multiple ways, also if hanfu were to be first popularised in cosmopolitan areas alongside precolonial clothing that both of them will communicate the message that to dress in a nonwesternised fashion is to be fashionable. This might break away the Philippines’ tie to the United States in another way, where America will no longer exert much sartorial influence on us anymore. Perhaps even further than at present, given the current Korean influence here. South Korea’s also generally more beholden to the US than China is, so willingly allying more with China would further sever western ties that a South Korean influence wouldn’t do, given China’s a legitimate superpower now. Though it’s a question if such garments would even be normalised.

And if they do get normalised at all, that is both hanfu and precolonial Philippine clothing, then newer influences would be more fashionable the next time around. Familiarity wouldn’t necessarily breed contempt, it would however pave way for such characters to look to the Philippines’ other neighbours for inspiration. Something like Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Laos and Malaysia would kind of help matters in a way, assuming if both precolonial clothing and hanfu have gotten so popularised in the Philippines as to be rather normalised in the near future. It’s a matter of time when Indonesian folk clothing would also get popularised in the Philippines like hanfu might do at all, but it would still signify that dressing fashionably is dressing in a nonwestern way.

It would be no different if it’s Vietnamese folk clothing, Cambodian folk clothing, Thai folk clothing, Burmese folk clothing or Laotian folk clothing that gets popularised here, it would be no different if these also happens in the aggregate because by then if somebody dresses in a westernised way, they’ll also be seen as unfashionable and highly unstylish. Maybe not necessarily so unfashionable but in a way that stands out negatively because future Filipinos might align more with nonwestern countries like China and Vietnam, moreso if America really does stop being a superpower at any point in time that anything American will be seen as highly unfashionable. Sort of like what’s happening in Canada at present that it will willingly turn to alternatives, now that America has burnt the bridge real badly for it. Though revoking or minimising American influence in Canada would be logistically harder.

One it shares the same landmass as America does to the extent that it’s going to be hard patronising local products alone that if it doesn’t want American products in its stores anymore, it might as well get the same products from Europe instead, which is what Canada might already be doing. Two, if Russia were to get back Alaska (according to this prophecy) and also if America were to plunge into a civil war, likely due to its own doublemindedness as to be unstable over time, that Canada could get Russified this way. If I’m being honest here, I’ve actually been praying to God for various people to cope with such things if they were to happen in the future at all, be it the popularisation of Chinese customs and holidays here (if they’re Filipino) or the popularisation of Russian and Danish music in Canada. It’s possible they could get answered in an unexpected way, but it would still convey the plausibility of American irrelevance.

If American influence were to be nearly undone the world over, it’s going to be logistically tricky at first to make up for a loss of US influence in some industries even when this makes substitutes all the more necessary or appealing, especially if some countries might not have large comics or fashion industries themselves. The comics industry in Japan is much larger than in Russia that if Philippine publishing houses were to develop a habit of translating Japanese comics into the Philippine vernacular, it would do more than suffice for a loss of US influence here. Having Canadian publishers translate comics coming from Moldova, Romania, Poland, Hungary, Latvia, Slovakia, Czechia, Russia, Lithuania and Estonia would be tricky, even in the aggregate as many of them don’t have particularly large comics industries due to a prior distrust of all things American.

It’s conceivable that the Philippine fashion industry might still buoy well with stronger East Asian influences (but this time also coming from China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia), the Canadian fashion industry would be in a more awkward shape because it’s this tied to the US fashion industry. The one situation where this would be alleviated is if Russia succeeds in getting Alaska back from America, that this is where the Russification of Canada begins in earnest and moreso if Canada even willingly joins Russia at all. A Russified Canada might be one where nearly all aspects of Russian culture gets popularised there, whether if this includes fashion at all, but the fashion part is just as tricky. Russian fashion brands do exist but they’re not particularly well-known outside of Russia, whereas American fashion brands are world-famous.

Given Calvin Klein, Guess, Abercrombie and Fitch, Forever 21 and The Gap are well-known American brands it’s inevitable they’ll be present in Philippine stores at all at present, but the loss of US influence would inevitably involve a loss of US influence in the sartorial sphere. It wouldn’t be a complete loss but it would still be felt in a big way, like if a US civil war were to happen again coupled with America continuing to alienate its allies that ultimately America might no longer be the tastemaker of the world anymore. The writing’s on the wall when Elon Musk turned Twitter into a superapp because he realised that superapps are popular in China, although short-form videos did get their start on Vine they only gained further traction when China’s Tiktok came along. It’s a matter of time when China’s Weibo gets popularised, but it’s plausible the more people turn away from Musk’s mishandling of the Twitter brand.

I don’t think casual clothing will entirely disappear as a version of it did exist in China, maybe not necessarily in the form we usually understand it to be, but I suppose if something like hanfu were to get popularised big time in the Philippines coupled with a similar popularisation of precolonial clothing here that a different version of informal clothing will be appear here. Or perhaps a different way of dressing stylishly and one that’s not beholden to American trends and influence anymore, where it might be fashionable to pair a hanyuansu Filipiniana blouse with a poqun (a wrap skirt with alternating sewn-in pieces of fabric). It might not be a stretch to witness hanyuansu ternos among Philippine women and girls once or after the Philippines willingly allies with China enough to observe a more sinicised Philippines from then on, but it still tells you that dressing like an American might be considered frumpy in the future.

A Russified Canada where Russian folk clothing gets popularised there would be no different, though it remains to be seen if additional influences from countries like Norway and Sweden may follow suit. Assuming if things like Armenian folk clothing were to even get popularised in Canada at all, that it’s likely it would be part of a possible trend of embracing nearly all things from both the former Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc. That is the more Canada cuts off ties to America that turning to countries like Armenia, Georgia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Russia for sartorial inspirations is very likely, but the Russian influence is the likeliest of the all as it’s another superpower returning to former glory and that Alaska’s right next to time, So Canadian fashion would be subsequently and consequently Russified from then on.

One would wonder if a brand like Canada Goose might end up taking cues from its newest allies in the former Soviet Union wherein it could take advantage of things like camel fabric, which is already been a thing for years in Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan. To do so would be to import Bactrian camels from Central Asia, even if it risks posing certain problems like introducing yet another invasive species. But it is an intriguing likelihood the more Canada cuts off ties to America, that perhaps turning to Central Asian and Eastern European alternatives would be pretty feasible. This might be another step in Canada becoming less Americanised (less America-lite if you will), that taking sartorial cues from Central Asian countries like Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan would further sever symbolic ties to America.

This could extend to taking sartorial cues from Baltic countries like Estonia one day. But it’s going to be telling that when Canada does get sartorially influenced by the Baltic countries, that’s when nearly all ties to America have been symbolically severed by then. This would be exacerbated by not only a forthcoming US civil war in years, but also another World War where America gets defeated there. I remember Celestial having this dream of seeing women in ridiculously tight clothing and the like that it’s clear America is the world leader in popularising sexualised garments, that even if it didn’t orignate such attire it does popularise them in a way their originators don’t get to. There was even a time in the past where both short shorts and showing the midriff were considered very provocative, so it’s likely they’d still be seen as such in other countries where sartorial modesty for women continues to be more deeply embedded there.

Mind you Cher pretty much put midriff baring and provocative clothing for pop singers on the map that subsequent female singers like Madonna, Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan and the like would follow her lead, that they can even be considered Cherlikes (as in any video game reminding people of Dark Souls would be called Soulslike). Even after America goes away that somebody prophesises there might be another epicentre of evil that perhaps this person from whatever country that could be the next America will be someone else’s Cher, whoever they may be in the future. Cher might be one of the earliest female musicians to set or influence the template for the prototypical pop dame, as in she dresses provocatively, sings songs most men aren’t into and has a big gay following to boot, things singers like Britney Spears would inherit from in some manner.

America being Mystery Babylon carries weight in that the nation-state that will become Mystery Babylon is another superpower, the original Babylon having been considered the queen of kingdoms. One who will decline ingloriously, one whose own parent will witness it die. Celestial even said somewhere that America will be affected by a nuclear bomb that was mentioned in the Bible, even if it’s not above doing this to itself for as long as it’s towards indigenous territory for some reason. But these further nuclear attacks would take place in cosmopolitan areas like New York, among other cities though Chicago wouldn’t be spared either. This does line up with a passage in the Bible where Mystery Babylon (as personified by a woman) gets killed by the monster she rides on, in fact she’s even burnt to death that will befall America one day.

If Mystery Babylon is the mother of all abominations that it’s befitting America would popularise certain things that contemporary gay culture takes for granted, even if both Sweden and France were ahead of it when it goes to legalising gay activity. This includes things that gay men would usually gravitate to like musical theatre, campy female pop singers, house music and gay porn magazines, even if some of these things were there outside of America before. Although things like music and theatre aren’t inherently bad things in and of themselves, there are even things like Passion plays where people reneact the cruxification of Jesus Christ every Easter season. Music’s also been used in service of the church that there are localised versions of this matter in countries like Ghana and Vietnam for instance, but what America did is to create worldly versions of them.

Whereas church music often glorifies and honours God, house music (and most secular music in general) usually don’t. When it comes to the area of plausible deniability whenever such songs are neutral enough to be open for interpretation, there’s always the risk of failing to do what’s right even if people do make mistakes and try to learn from it the next time around. The thing with the Backstreet Boys is that they have a Christian member, sort of like with Hanson and Ace of Base (their contemporaries), but since Backstreet Boys are still very much in the public eye with Hanson having practically become a cult band and Ace of Base being defunct as of late, that this carries a particular set of responsibilities that Brian Littrell rarely, if ever, does at all. At any point where he could’ve gone the way of Zac Hanson, he prefers to remain in the world for some reason.

Both men are practising Christians but Mr Hanson seemed to have plunged deeper in his calling in the church after his band faced a backlash for his prior antics that it’s really wiser to be dedicated to God even if this risks committing social suicide to the public (well, half of their fans), than to remain in the world and commit spiritual suicide. I even prayed for those in Ace of Base to take their fans to church and stuff, lest they risk repeating the past in some way where a fan attacked them and killed one of their relatives. It kind of backfired before but even then this is a responsibility they ought to carry, lest it get into their heads all over again. There are likely some Backstreet Boys fans who do the same thing, though unfortunately Brian Littrell never seemed to be concerned for one of his fans going knee deep in her idolatry for them (though I struggle with this as well).

Perhaps it would be for the better for the Backstreet Boys to go away for good, lest they get much worse than they already are. The timing of their rise and peak went hand in hand with America’s brief moment as a hyperpower, wherein it was the only superpower for a time being, as to have unprecedented unilaterla influence all over the world. I remember some book where those in India would leer at the sight of the Baywatch women in red leotards, yet demand their daughters to dress more modestly. Baywatch was one of those programmes that rose and peaked in tandem with America’s time as a hyperpower, that in hindsight what was globalisation was really Americanisation. If the original Babylon is the daughter of Sumer, then America being Mystery Babylon is the daughter of Britain. Britain is also wicked and may get dissolved into three separate countries not seen since centuries.

This might mark the true end or decline of English as the lingua franca, but this would be more drastic in the Philippines that due to our close ties to Mystery Babylon, that English will no longer be spoken here as it will be replaced by Mandarin instead. Both Spanish and English will become extinct in the Philippines, especially as older generations die and western influence gets revoked, to the point where the Philippines becomes like any other East Asian country in most regards due to its inability to consistently lead a Christian life and never repenting (as what preachers have previously pointed out). America is really going into decline and may decline even further once both WWIII and a new civil war both start in earnest together. Whether or not the American fashion style will be undone has yet to be played out.

But supposing if God does answer prayers when it comes to interceding for somebody and anybody to cope with the popularisation of certain folk garments of other countries in places like the Philippines and Canada that it could happen, albeit unexpectedly where it might no longer be fashionable to dress like Americans anymore. Not that there won’t be any casual dress anymore at all, but that both Canada and the Philippines will follow their new masters more closely this time (Russia for Canada, China for the Philippines). Canadian fashion might end up taking more cues from European countries this time, Philippine fashion might become more heavily influenced by its closest neighbours from then on. But it’s not going to remain the same once American influence does get revoked or reduced the world over.
