I Am Stretched On Your Grave

It’s going to be hard for others to accept that not only is America Mystery Babylon, but that its demise is inevitable and as God can see into the future, he’s already prepared its casket and gravestone. Even if it were possible for America to continue existing in the future, it will be changed a lot from the present given the number of prophecies about it getting nuked, its people getting enslaved and getting conquered by its rivals. Imagine how humiliating it is for it to be conquered by its former Cold War rival Russia, becoming an extension of itself and then drowning forever. It lines up with a Biblical passage about Mystery Babylon getting destroyed, then no longer easily found in the world.

I even said before that America’s cultural influence and legacy will be undone, it will be undone faster than expected because much of it’s corrupting. Celestial even said that America will be forgotten, made into a footnote in every history book. A nation-state that nobody alive today will remember into the future, a nation-state whose legacy will be erased from the world forever. We should reckon with the fact as America’s end nears, God will do anything to hasten its decline because it is corrupting. There’s a passage in Revelation saying that Mystery Babylon’s musicians will no longer play music, so there’s a chance that many newer American acts and musicians will have their careers cut short.

American music will no longer be played on international radio anymore, so they’ll be playing their countries’ own music more often. American products will lose popularity all over the world, the more America declines in stature and power. The 2020s will mark the last of America’s time as a superpower, for its end is forthcoming. It will be defeated by four countries like Iran, North Korea, Russia and China, all four of them are God’s weapons of indignation against this country. Let Filipinos be warned that the Philippines will be judged a lot for its hypocrisies, sins and habit of following Babylon II that it will get conquered by China as a consequence of its wickedness, tell them that it’s another Edom.

Modern nation-states do have their counterparts in the Bible, Solitary Man said that Canada’s counterpart is Sodom, America’s counterpart is Babylon and I dare say that the Philippines’s counterparts are both Judah and Edom. Judah because it’s so rebellious towards God that he let Babylon conquer it, so logically he’ll make China do the same thing to the Philippines for the same reason. God will even do anything to undo much of America’s influence in this country, because of our collective sinning and how we’ll be judged for this. So American influence will be supplanted largely by Chinese influence, the more the Philippines comes under China as a consequence of its own wickedness.

It’s been said elsewhere that of all the western superpowers, America went from barbarism to decadence without developing civilisation or culture in-between. So it could be said that America also went from fidelity to apostasy without backsliding in-between, as to speak about America’s own spiritual condition. American influence wouldn’t be forever, but in a way that parallels the original Babylon. Little of its cultural influence remains, mostly in the realm of the sciences and also as a linguistic substrate for Mesopotamian Arabic. What’s more astonishing is how Akkadian never left a descendant the way Latin did, but that’s because Latin got co-opted by the church early on.

So in due time, it was able to beget French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian and many more. Akkadian wasn’t so lucky and outside of being the substrate for both Mesopotamian Arabic and Aramaic in Iraq, it never left any descendants to carry out its legacy for it’s been largely undone by God. Logically as American influence gets both revoked and undone throughout the Philippines and the whole world, Philippine stations won’t be playing American music anymore (perhaps outside of Christian music), Filipinos will no longer use Anglophone names and speak English, but rather use Tagalog names and speak Mandarin from then on.

Some of it’s based on what I’ve been praying for, since I feel the Philippines is too westernised for its own good. But this is going to happen within God’s will, since he’s going to revoke America in its entirety. America will no longer be found on the map anymore, for it will drown under the ocean forever. It will be hit by economic problems, a civil war, World War Three and natural disasters, it will be changed beyond recognition. Thus says the Lord, America is Babylon and it belongs in the grave.

The Great City On A Hill–America’s Real Identity In The Bible

As to which constitutes Mystery Babylon in the Bible, there are people who say that America is Mystery Babylon. It’s not uncommon but it’s not something that’s discussed in polite company, given the nature of Christian nationalism in America. Though it’s kind of obvious that America is the country that sits on many waters, as China’s largely confined to the Pacific and likewise, Britain to the Atlantic. Canada and Mexico could contend for that, but neither of them are superpowers the way America is.

Brazil is very powerful at this point but it’s largely confined to the Atlantic, so only America qualifies of all the countries in the Americas. It’s got a very powerful economy and enormous sociocultural clout all over the world, plus it’s something of a hegemon and a world police officer so it fits the bill of Babylon being the hammer of the Earth. It should be noted that ancient Biblical kingdoms actually have modern day counterparts. America’s biblical counterpart would be Babylon proper.

Likewise the Philippines’s true counterpart in the Bible is Edom, as in how the Philippines constantly forfeits God in favour of the world and sin like what Esau ended up doing. Just as the Edomites got hellenised and arabicised over the years, so the Philippines will get sinicised over the years just the same. The Edomites may have started out as monotheists like the Israelites were, but they fully gave into polytheism/idolatry. The Philippines is one of the few Christian-majority countries in Asia, but lately it’s giving into idolatry big time.

So it’s going to get sinicised just as the Edomites got assimilated into other communities and cultures, though one could argue about something like Jordanian Arabic having a possible Edomite influence. But it still goes to show you how the Edomites got assimilated into other cultures and communities, so will the Philippines be under China. As for America being Babylon, it’s kind of telling in terms of being both the hammer of the earth and also very spiritually corrupt and wayward.

Babylon was technically a great power and one that yielded a lot of influence over the Middle East, having turned Judah into a client state for its rebellion and foolishness. America being a superpower magnifies this scale, since it has many client states from nearly all over the world. It’s been suspected by others that its former coloniser Britain is currently its client state in some regards, similar things can be said of Japan and South Korea.

It may not be discussed often in polite company, but they’re practically like this given their economic dependence on America. If America is Mystery Babylon, it’s described as a city on a shining hill just as how Mystery Babylon sits on the monster whose heads represent the kings presiding over their respective countries and mountains. One would wonder if this gives more clues to its real identity in the Bible, even if it’s kind of offensive to point out openly.

But realistically it makes more sense for America to be Mystery Babylon, given no other country qualifies for Mystery Babylon on many counts. Britain may have been a superpower but it doesn’t sit on many waters the way America does, neither does Spain and it was also a superpower back then. The same thing can be said of the Netherlands really, which makes it all the remarkable as its land area isn’t this large compared to both Britain and Spain.

Neither Canada and Mexico are superpowers, despite coming close, and while Brazil is a superpower, it’s largely confined to the Atlantic so only America qualifies. I suspect it’s something that’s not discussed often in polite company, because I feel many Americans (including many American Christians) make an idol out of America that it’s preferable to see it as Israel instead of Babylon. Despite the fact that biblical Israel never conquered as much land as Babylon did.

America conquered so much land that comparing it to Babylon’s far more practical and realistic, ancient Israel never came close to either one or both of them. So America really is the great city Babylon in the Bible, or at least has a biblical counterpart in Babylon itself.

Video games for women

It’s not that they didn’t exist at all, they did exist before but they were more commonplace in Japan. Especially video games specifically made for female audiences in mind, kind of interesting to think that Japan is ahead of the west in this regard. Particularly when it comes to consistently having video games and comics specifically made for female audiences, which is something the west tries to do and has been catching up on this lately. Well I feel when it comes to the western world, until recently with the advent of casual games on both online websites and mobile devices, there weren’t a lot of video games specifically made for women and girls in mind.

So a good number of female gamers would either stick to gender-neutral games or be put up with sexist garbage for years, that it’s not surprising why the western video game industry has so much difficulty attracting a female audience until recently. I actually have thoughts of contributing characters and storylines to a video game that I’d want to work on in the future, but one that’s more in line with what more women are into narratively speaking. Something like mystery and romance when it comes to the reading side of things, these were there in video games before. But it would be nice to create a video game that leans on both to varying degrees.

Admittedly, this is based around superheroes but changed significantly to meet certain markets and demographics as well as my own changing ideas for it. Something like how many of the superheroes in this story are in fact police themselves, which is thematically similar to Alan Moore’s Top Ten. Except I think Top Ten’s too mired in superhero leitmotifs to even resemble crime fiction, which I suspect that despite his desire to present such a world he neither has much interest in crime fiction nor law enforcement and criminal cases to convey it convincingly. Not that he’s a bad writer, but that these sorts of things aren’t his strong suits.

To make it even less similar to Top Ten is to take it out of the superhero school and make more recipient to outside influences, not just more true crime and crime fiction, but also something like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, more nonfiction in general and so on, whatever they may be at present or in the future. That’s not to say I dislike superheroes as much as I feel Top Ten adheres much more to superhero school conventions, than it does to crime fiction proper which explains why it’s written the way it is. The fact that Alan Moore not only has read a lot of superheroes, but has written superhero stories for a long time that it shouldn’t be surprising why it turned out this way.

Even then this helps in establishing a strong identity for the game, as well as finding ways to make it reach out to different peoples. So I feel a superhero puzzle game would suit the theme of having superheroes as the police, it may not be the first superhero puzzle game as there were earlier ones before. Though primarily based around well-established brands like DC and Marvel at that, it could be said that there’s a precedent for this sort of thing. Not to mention, both mobile and puzzle games are popular with women, so a superhero puzzle game is just as likely to do very well with them.

As for the female character designs, sexualised female characters have fallen out of favour. No surprise why characters like Mortal Kombat’s Kitana and Mileena, as well as Street Fighter’s Cammy White dress more modestly than they used to. They have been criticised before and it’s only now that this aspect has been toned down or supplanted by something else instead, if both Capcom and Netherrealms Studio continued with the sexualised designs they’d be out of business by then. So they had to change to adapt to changing market preferences and tastes, that’s to be in step with the times.

When it comes to our own female characters, it would be nice to take cues from high fashion brands and the like to present female character designs that are more glamourous and stylish than sexualised, especially if some female gamers are uncomfortable with the latter. Sort of like how Disney Princesses are far more popular with women and girls, despite being idealised their character designs tend to be more glamourous than sexy. While the average DC/Marvel heroine is technically more agentic, this is often undermined by constant sexualisation.

Sort of like what Mileena, Cammy, Kitana and Sonya had for years, while the idea of a female martial artist is aspirational, the way they’ve been presented for a long time leaves much to be desired. Especially when it comes to women who aren’t comfortable with sexualised depictions, that it’s only now video games are beginning to pay attention to them more. This shouldn’t be surprising why the sexualised look fell out of favour in today’s gaming environment, it’s off-putting to other people and why it took time for the female gaming audience to rise in substantial numbers in the west.

Even if characters like Wonder Woman are technically/theoretically more agentic than Princess Aurora and Belle are, well at times I suppose, the way they’re presented seems more in line with popular men’s sex fantasies. This isn’t helped by that Wonder Woman sprung from the mind of somebody mired in BDSM, so it’s not hard to see why she carries such baggage like that. No surprise why more women are more comfortable identifying with Aurora and Belle than they do with Wonder Woman and Supergirl, the former two don’t appear in skimpy outfits that much. They also dress more stylishly, which’s appealing to more women.

The latter two have a history of appearing in skimpy outfits, though Supergirl now dresses more modestly these days (so far), but it’s not just that they’re skimpy they also have a lot in common with porn. It’s been long and frequently suspected that those working on superhero comics take cues from pornography, in some way or another, whether if it’s William Mouston subscribing to the softcore porn in his days, or how cartoonists do porn in their spare time. It’s no surprise why such themes and leitmotifs also occur in superhero comics, especially those coming from DC and Marvel.

This is finally getting better in today’s comics and video games, however small those steps are at times, is kind of praiseworthy. Then we get into the sort of stories women read, especially when we get to the storytelling side of things. Something like mystery and romance, since both do well with women a lot. Especially when it comes to the book side of things, that it would be nice to create a mobile game that leans into either one of these or even both. It’s already been done before to some extent, but it would be nice to inject bits and pieces of superhero storytelling to make it more distinctive. More immediately identifiable as its own.

It wouldn’t exactly attract a 100 percent female audience, but more than it would years ago (maybe except in Japan). But it should be noted that with the western video game market, it was something that catered to male customers a lot, far more than it did in Japan since the latter already had a substantial video game market for women earlier and longer, that it coloured the way video games were made and marketed to until now. It’s nearly about equal in America these days, though I think it would look different elsewhere. Maybe not exactly but you should get an idea of how far video gamers have come to near parity when it comes to gender composition, though this gets complicated by how some women don’t see themselves as gamers.

But this would mean that the number of female video gamers is larger than is officially counted, maybe not exactly near parity either, but larger than what the numbers tell. Though having more female game developers is nice, especially when it comes to creating something for other women in mind, that it would lead to something women would gravitate to and organically so. That and toning down the sexist advertising, which puts off women. I feel if there are women who are put off by idealised bodies, naked women and the like that it seems the naked female form isn’t quite as appealing to all people, especially if it risks putting them off from something.

Though this Redditor was referring to a comic book that someone gave to them, it does make sense why sexualised depictions of women are actually more off-putting than one realises or intended to. So we’re going to advertise this game, it shouldn’t have any of these portrayals because it would put off certain people and we’re trying to reach a broader audience here. Actually it shouldn’t have all of these portrayals either, so this is something video game companies are striving to do these days, the more they actively include different kinds of people in game development. It’s not perfect, but they’re getting there.

So it seems when it comes to creating something for women, we have to take their input into consideration that while I may not be able to speak for all women, common concerns include sexualisation, misogyny and the like. So we’re out to create a video game that includes/involves the things most women like, minimal or absent sexualisation of female characters, less sexualised violence against women and so on. Admittedly, humans may make mistakes so even this video game we could make wouldn’t be perfect either, but we’re getting there and we’re aiming to include women as part of our gaming audience and game development.

The video game industry has come a long way from where it was in the past, it’s still not entirely perfect but it’s something that’s doing its best to be inclusive to all walks of life as possible. This includes women and minorities.

Double Standards

When it comes to Harry Potter and Narnia, while it’s not hard to raise objections to the former (I myself fell into this in a way), but when it comes to the latter among Christians I feel it constitutes a socially acceptable way to read something taboo or off-limits in some way. But this involves realising something about themselves that feel drawn to things they shouldn’t even be into, I feel a children’s story featuring characters going through the trials and tribulations of their own wrongdoing and striving to be faithful to God would get off the ground, if it didn’t have any magic at all perhaps other than it being the byproduct of suspicious characters, would get off the ground the way Narnia did.

Even if it would’ve been more Biblically consistent, given the Bible’s stance on magic, but I guess something that’s taboo is more appealing than if it’s already good for other people. It kind of lines up with the verses about being tempted into doing something sinful/evil but also risking negative consequences as it’s been like this with me before, perhaps because a lot of Christians are rather worldly that even if they’re against the world on principle, they actually like it in practise for as long as it’s done in a socially acceptable form. Though sin is still sin, regardless of the form it takes on, it’s kind of unsaid in Christian communities that sin is kind of lovable if it takes on a socially acceptable form like Narnia for instance.

To put it this way it would be like the taboo surrounding male nudity, put them in tight clothing (for as long as you ignore the crotch area) then it’s kind of okay to look at. It’s already the case with superhero stories in a way, but at times it’s so close to actual nudity that inevitably many superhero cartoonists would’ve inevitably looked at naked fit men at some point. Maybe not really but it does feel like it whenever they make it so tight as to be bodypainted, maybe in ways not many would immediately realise what superhero cartoonists are actually up to. But it does make you wonder about how people enjoy consuming something taboo in a socially acceptable form, it may not be male nudity as it is with superhero comics. It could be something like magic in Narnia, but not many will admit it in some way.

I thought about this when it comes to Narnia’s own author CS Lewis, where I feel some of his popularity owes to how he can indulge in things taboo to a lot of Christians and still be beloved for it. He wouldn’t enjoy the same degree of cultish fame among Evangelicals if he was square through and through, something like CH Spurgeon and it’s kind of telling how CH Spurgeon never spawned a cult following among Evangelicals the way Lewis did. Even though he advocated and did more things in line with both Evangelical dogma and the Bible, there’s not a single CH Spurgeon society the way there is for CS Lewis. I still think Evangelicals actually enjoy taboo matters, for as long as it’s presented in a way that doesn’t offend them.

But it does make you wonder if their standards for what’s good and edifying are lower than they realise.

The Philippines with less western influence

This is something that I honestly yearned for, since I feel this country is far too westernised for its own good. A stronger Chinese influence wouldn’t necessarily immediately solve corruption here, but if the Philippines were to not only adopt Confucianism but also both the imperial exams system and scholar-officials, then it would succeed in minimising years of western influence. Same thing would happen if things like Chinese customs, Chinese holidays, Chinese name order, Chinese language, Daoism and native Tagalog names and words got popularised here, it would result in a less westernised Philippines. Not necessarily any better or worse, but with the effects of westernisation being practically minimised by a heavier Chinese influence.

An even more shocking possibility and outcome of this is how God might undo westernisation and allow China to take over the Philippines, mostly because it sins too much for a nation that calls itself a Christian country. I even think sometime in the near future, more and more Filipinos will despise Christianity for not being progressive enough that results in substantially less Christians in the Philippines by then. Especially when it comes to wanting the Philippine government to legalise things like gay marriage and the like, that it would really become the case in the coming months of 2025. But at the cost of building a stronger relationship with God, because that would mean the Philippines has openly turned its back on him thus leading China to take over us inevitably.

If God is seeking to undo western influence as a consequence of our collective sinning, then we might have to learn to repent and roll with the punches in the meantime. If the Chinese sword doesn’t depart from the Philippine house, then it’s going to be long-lasting because of how far the Philippines has fallen. Not just economically and politically, but also spiritually when it comes to condoning more ungodly things like LGBT and pornography. I even said before that more and more Filipinos will condemn Christianity for being unkind to the LGBT community, so they become secular to become progressive. Practically like what happened to the west, but it would be sped up in the Philippines if it weren’t for something like successfully legalising gay marriage.

If this ever comes to pass, expect a substantial drop in Christian followers in the Philippines. Faster and lower than expected, the Philippines has become the most secularised country in Southeast Asia in a really short period of time. But this only sets up for God to make China conquer us, because of our sins and turning against him that this is what we ended up getting. So he’s going to revoke western influence because it’s mostly not good and also because we sin too much, so Filipinos aren’t going to speak English anymore but rather Mandarin. We will practise Chinese customs and holidays from then on, not to mention I even think the Philippines is like a modern day Edom and Judah combined together. But the Edom part is telling because it longer exists on its own.

Much of its people have assimilated into other nations and cultures, the Edomite language is practically extinct. The Edomites themselves were the descendants of Esau and were at war with the Israelites in some way, because they cursed God’s people a lot that they themselves got cursed. If Filipinos are like the modern day Edomites, with their habit of blaspheming God a lot and then despising Christianity themselves that it’s on them why China conquered and heavily influences the Philippines a lot. Filipinos are very blasphemous because they habitually mock God, the Bible and Christianity that no sooner or later their ties to the west (the place that brought them Christianity) will be revoked or undone. Just as the Edomites assimilated into Rome, the Philippines will be assimilated into China in some way.

Just as God told both Rebecca and Isaac that Jacob will have the upper hand over Esau, Indonesia will have the upper hand over the Philippines when it comes to the latter’s own sins that it will be the one sending missionaries to us. Indonesia, like Jacob’s lineage, will witness to see its culture survive largely the same as it is in the future, but the Philippines’s western influence will be largely undone due to this country’s repeated sinning and constant preference for evil. If Esau’s descendants came to serve Jacob’s own, expect the Philippines to acquiesce to Indonesian influence in some way or another. Esau forfeited his birthright for the world, the Philippines has forfeited faith in God for the same thing. The Philippines isn’t really Sodom, but more of a modern Edom.

One that might live to experience the undoing of years of western influence through becoming part of China in some way.

Idle worship

I feel DC and Marvel don’t get much flack from Christians for enabling idolatry in people, even though that’s what they’ve been doing for years. It’s obvious when Marvel calls its devoted readers and viewers true believers, where they take so much time and energy on cartoon characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine when they could’ve have more time for God is practically idolatry. There’s spiritually no getting around it because that’s what it is, if you’ve replaced God with Superman in your heart and mind it’s no different. But I suspect that both DC and Marvel don’t get much flack compared to tired suspects like Catholicism and Harry Potter, since they seem more harmless to most Evangelicals even though the problem of idolatry remains the same with them.

It could even be said that both of them constitute socially acceptable forms of idolatry, given they don’t have the same baggage as the latter two do. So it’s less common for Evangelicals to criticise the two, even though they do the same things really. Somebody on Reddit wrote that it has a lot to do with Christians being really worldly people, who appear to have far lower standards of what’s edifying and sanctifying to the soul than they realise. Perhaps this might really explain why Evangelicals barely give a toss about DC and Marvel encouraging idolatry of their characters and brands, even if that’s what they do often and it has to be called out for what it really is.

When one thinks about it, given how DC and Marvel make people do anything and everything to buy their products that things like statuettes constitute graven images and idols. They may even be idols in the historical sense of the word, given they’re made out of something instead of being mystically experiential as it is with the biblical God. As what this Redditor pointed out, many Christians have shockingly poor discernment that they openly indulge in filth for as long as it’s socially acceptable filth. It’s not a matter of apples and oranges, but comparing green apples to red apples. It’s like thinking green apples are less sinful than red apples, because they don’t appear to be used by the Devil. Just as a spade remains a spade, a green apple is still an apple.

An idol will always be an idol, regardless if it’s Harry Potter, Virgin Mary or Supergirl. It would be practically calling evil good if you don’t call out Superman idolatry for what it is, not helped by that many Christians are kind of spiritually illiterate. I also have this nagging suspicion that within Christian circles certain things are practically socially acceptable idols, it could be something that doesn’t irritate them as much so they fly under the radar. Even if the problem and the sin remain the same, regardless if it’s Batman or Saint Michael.

“But he looks gay”

When it comes to western men and women’s idea of a stylish man, I feel there’s a kind of cutoff when it comes to what seems gay. It wouldn’t necessarily absolve Koreans and the Japanese of homophobia, but it does bring up something about western culture that not many realise. If you believe many Koreans online, American culture is weirdly macho. Not just in heavily celebrating macho action stars, but also how it looks down on men who actually dress well. Like I said before that there seems to be a cutoff between men who dress well and men who kind of dress gay to many western men and women, like given the stereotype of gay men being into fashion so it seems their idea of an acceptably stylish man is someone who’s staid, but to the point of being square.

Even though both South Korea and Japan aren’t any less sexist, western culture seems historically hellbent on not wanting men to appear gay that its bar for stylish men’s fashion is usually pretty low. Conversely speaking, when it comes to western women’s fashion it’s said to be rather sexualised by Japanese standards. Not only do a number of western women’s clothing is really form-fitting, but they also show more skin. That’s not to say Japanese women haven’t worn anything like this before, but it’s not very often and actually loose-fitting, modest clothing is more popular in Japan. Japanese women also tend to favour a cutesier look, since anything that’s sexy is too tacky for them.

As for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, the Japanese do recognise that the characters dress ridiculously but don’t see them as gay. It could be that the Japanese may already be kind of used to men dressing kind of flamboyantly in some way when it comes to things like Visual Kei, but it’s also possible that despite being kind of homophobic themselves it seems they have a higher standard for stylish menswear than westerners do. To the point where I don’t think a westerner would’ve come up with something like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure when it comes to the characters’ fashion sense, because it would either be boring western casual clothing (Diesel) or more recently, tactical inspired clothing.

When it comes to the way Hirohiko Araki designs his characters’ outfits, they often tend to be clobbered from either the fashion magazines he reads or musicians like Prince for instance. As most Jojo characters tend to be male, they often tend to dress very stylishly. But to the point of coming off as kind of gay to westerners, who prefer their men to look kind of square sartorially speaking. I still think a westerner wouldn’t have bothered or preferred to make male characters dress like the way Araki makes them do, since they’re kind of hung up on not making male characters look gay or something. The fact that JJBA’s not considered gay in Japan speaks volumes about cultural differences.

It wouldn’t apply to almost all the Jojo characters, but when it comes to the way male characters dress, it really can’t be the product of a western mind since dressing too well would be too gay for them. So there’s really going to be a case about how one’s cultural exposure and upbringing influences the way they design characters, sort of like how in America there’s a major push towards fat acceptance but there’s almost none in China and Japan. So there’s a push towards adding more positive fat characters in American media, not that it’s entirely absent in both China and Japan (some Gundam anime show this as well). But there’s no mistaking that Japan’s idea of dressing well differs from America’s.

According to the Japanese, Americans tend to dress sloppy. So Americans are going to have a low bar for what they deem is stylish men’s clothing, like I said if an American created JJBA the male characters wouldn’t dress this stylishly. Also the Japanese seem to dress better than Americans because they have this feeling that they’re being watched by others, so they have to dress well to impress them on some level I think. Also whenever the Japanese go out to work, they’re expected to dress formally. Americans tend to dress for comfort and out of practicality, so that’s why they’re the first to popularise casual clothing as we know it. That’s also why their respective fashion senses differ.

Why is the Philippines the modern day Edom?

As Edom is descended from Esau, Esau being the man who forfeited his birthright for the world that the Philippines is practically no different in this regard. It has forfeited God in favour of the world that it is destined to serve its less Christian siblings (Malaysia and Indonesia, really one nation in reality) instead, I even think the Philippines will experience a drop in Christianity the more its people forsake God for real because they think Christianity’s not kind to the LGBT community when they start advocating for gay marriage to be legalised here, the Philippines has legalised divorce (one other thing God usually dislikes). So legalising gay marriage would be the logical next step in a few months from now, though one that further leads to secularising the Philippines a lot.

While Esau did go back to God, the same can’t be said of his descendants who ended up doing idolatry a lot. So this is also true for the Philippines because while Filipinos may not necessarily celebrate the pre-Christian deities, most of them have made idols out of other things so this makes the parallels between them and the Edomites all the more telling. Just as the Edomites were eventually assimilated into the cultures and communities of their enemies, so will the Philippines fall under China due to its repeated sinning and disobedience that no sooner or later it will be deeply sinicised. This is admittedly something that I wanted, but this would happen as a consequence of the Philippines’s own habitual sinning that it’s really going to be the case in a way.

The Philippines will come under China for its iniquity and disdain for God, its unbelief in God resulting in the consequence of becoming another Vietnam. Another country heavily influenced by China, but mostly because the Philippines is so unrepentant and blasphemous that it becomes a second Vietnam due to God’s indignation towards us. He will do anything to revoke western influence here, both because it’s mostly not good and also because we sin too much and reject his sound advice that we become hardened towards him as to warrant getting captured by China anyways. We often go against his word that we start losing faith in him, the Philippines is really becoming another backsliding nation the way Croatia, Czechia, Britain and Ireland are for years. But we’ll witness a rapid decline in Christianity, before getting conquered by China.

The Philippines might still be around in some form, but one that’s heavily sinicised due to our perpetual disobedience that we’re never going back to being a Christian-majority and westernised country again.
