Another reason why dog predation should be taken more seriously is that they can badly impact livestock and the people who depend on them. Most people don’t eat dogs anyways so they’re not of much consumption value as say pigs, cattle, goats and sheep are. Dogs could practically be an invasive species if they intrude on livestock deemed valuable for consumption and clothing.
Sadly sometimes the blame is attributed to wolves even when canine predation’s more frequently reported. To make matters worse, some farmers could have rare livestock breeds. That they don’t want anything like cats and dogs to interfere with what they’re doing. Somebody should also bring up dairy and wool as dogs prey on the animals that provide those.
If it were more taken more seriously, it could horrify a lot of people but also bring up other problems related to agricultural hardships.
