Dog predation should be taken more seriously, not just because it impacts wildlife but because it also badly impacts farmers. A good number of farmers have to deal with dog predation for a good reason. These are the same people who supply everybody else with eggs, meat and clothing. If stray dogs keep on interfering with their work, it also interferes with the industries they’re benefiting from.
Similar things can be said of cats but feline predation seems to be taken more seriously. To any other farmer, they’re both problematic because they sometimes interfere with their job. The same goes for shepherds and goatherds who have to be put up with these. Everybody else wants wool, leather and food so dealing with stray dogs is a big deal to them and should be considered given how demanding it is for farmers.
