Them Offbeats

I used to watch this skit on the programme Kablam before and it’s called ‘The Offbeats’ because the cast are weird kids. Oddly enough, I would call certain characters ‘offbeats’ given their polarising reputation. For instance, there’s this video game called Dramatical Murder. Its popularity peaked in the mid-2000s (there’s another one coming up called ‘Slow Damage’) with one character illiciting a divisive response.

He’s offbeat or that he’s strange-looking even when there’s reasonable criticism for his actions and portrayal. If he were more conventionally attractive (or at least younger) he would’ve been excused or something. But if it happened, some fans would find him overrated. Don’t be surprised if they feel similarly with other games.
