Attributed to dead writers

Considering how bad a big pop plagiarism scandal would be, it could change the way professionals approach music and one of those things involve turning to the public domain. This would’ve been the domain of nursery rhymes, folk music, liturgies and caroling. There’s the crossover with other genres but would predominate to avoid infringement.

Producers might start crediting long dead writers whenever they peruse the public domain en masse. Be sure to catch a single that enlists the late Emily Dickinson as one of the songwriters. It could weird people out with a top 40 album using Shakespeare’s sonnets but could turn out well as an antidote to manufactured plagiarists that used to rule music.
