I had this epiphany that DC already had a queer male ice character before but he was part of a rather creator owned story called ‘Young Heroes in Love’ meaning his writers have the rights to not only him and his comrades but also whatever stories they appear in. It’s as if Marvel snatched the concept behind him and imposed it onto Iceman.
At this point, their creators have moved onto other things being wise enough to not be meddled with by the higher ups anymore. It’s even a good thing that nobody else will bother to mangle their creations any further except in fanfiction. It might not be plagiarism but one could suggest that Young Heroes in Love was more influential than it’s given credit for.
